Thanks, I'll take a look and give that a try...
Mine is a MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020) 8 GB memory and Intel Iris Plus Graphics 1536 MB
I did everything from completely uninstalling and reinstalling and it still crashes.
I'm on an iMac pro.
Please can you provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so and what to provide here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612396/highlight/true#M162
There was an issue with iMac Pros and the Vega GPUs https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/CURRENT-ISSUE-Freezing-possible-system-lockup-on-Macs-with-AMD/m-p/9578876#U9578876
Hi, do you know of any issues with the game and MacBooks running Monterey with the M1 chip? I looked in this thread and am only seeing posts from players with the Intel chip. I haven't updated to Monterey yet, because I don't want to have any problems with The Sims 4, but I would like to do the update soon.
My specs are:
macOS Big Sur version 11.6
MacBook Air 2020
Apple M1 Chip
Memory 16GB

Yes, have a look in the compiled list of Mac specific issues stickied in this Mac forum https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Compiled-list-of-Mac-specific-issues/m-p/9346384#M36711 Hi All,
I hope I've posted this on the correct thread.
Having issues with sims 4, I've removed all my saves and started fresh, also repaired game and it just freezes. I need to force quit the game.
My specs are:
Many thanks.
I did read the thread about the issues with M1 chip MacBooks. I find it weird that I personally have not had any of the problems mentioned there. I have not had any issues running the game on my MacBook with the M1 chip, in fact it runs better than it ever has. And I did not have Vertical Sync turned on. I didn't see anyone in that thread that actually posted what macOS they were running, granted I didn't read through all 60+ pages. Do you think the reason I'm not having any problems is because I haven't switched over to Monterey yet? I've had my new MacBook for about 6 months.

It's not weird, I didn't have to enable vsync on my M1 either. It was a common problem but not universal.
The compiled list also has the link to the Monterey thread, did you have a look at that one? Oh ok, that's good to know. Yes, that was the one I first posted in. Because I noticed everyone in the Monterey thread mentioned they had the Intel chips not the M1 chips. So I wasn't sure if the Monterey x M1 chip combo would produce the same issues as the Monterey x Intel chip. But I think I'll just hold off on updating to Monterey for now. Thank you for your quick replies!

I've updated my M1 but haven't loaded the game in ages on it. It's on the list to test properly once I have time 🙂
