Re: Unable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only

@alexispearls

One of the solutions is two posts above yours. Does the game have access to your Documents folder in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Files & Folders?

    OMG you were right! thank you so much! super happy right now. I get to recreate memories with my daughter and show her how awesome this game is.

    Hello, I am also experiencing this problem. Permissions have been allowed for the game, I have uninstalled and reinstalled, tried resetting origin and restarting my laptop, taking everything out of the drive and downloading the game fresh, and I am still experiencing a problem with the game being able to load. Any ideas?

    Please post a screenshot of the error message and screenshots showing what access the game has in Files & Folders and Full Disk Access in System Settings.

    Origin, Sims 4 & 3 all have full disk access. I think it is important to add that I am using an external hard drive.

    Yes, using an external hard drive is very relevant. Have you created the symlink to store the TS4 folder on the external drive?

    No I have not, I would need directions on how to do so?

    I wasn’t asking because you should create the symlink. I was asking because it could be related if you had done so.
