sims won't do anything/get stuck

since the update, my sims are fine for a few min/actions then they break. they get stuck doing whatever they are doing, i.e. watching tv, and refuse to do anything else. i go to X it out and it grays it out but never stops them. if i try to get them to literally just walk anywhere else it goes in the top grey area but they never do it. the mood buffs run their time course but then stay at 0 flashing and never go away. also half the animations wont show up - im trying to do a rags to riches run away teen save but when i try to tell the parents to woohoo they just stand and talk when their supposed to be doing it. the game registers it cause she'll get pregnant sometimes but like. send help please!!!! game is UNPLAYABLE.

mods: (normally yes) no i have deleted them all to try to fix this

fixes ive tried: game repair multiple times, folder refresh, disable laundry day pack, delete folder to make another one, tried living in new worlds house new households etc, ask around in discord forms
