    This is normal behaviour and not a bug. If you play in full screen mode the Dock will not pop up when you move your cursor to the bottom of the screen.

    @Bluebellflora It’s definitely in full screen mode—in its own Space—and definitely popping up the Dock whenever I mouse over to the right of my screen in Catalina.

    Hmm. I did manage to get my Dock to appear twice during testing in Mojave and Catalina but it seems very intermittent whereas moving the cursor to the top of the screen always brings up the top menu bar.

    I tend to play in windowed mode as I like being able to drag the game window to whatever size I prefer. That is an option available then you can move the window slightly over to the left so you don't go near the Dock.

    @Bluebellflora That’s an interesting idea.

    However I was less than perfectly clear earlier; it only pops up every time in CAS or on the main screen; only sometimes in the game itself.

    And my menu bar never pops up no matter what. Odd.

    Yep, definitely using the proper fullscreen mode where the game slides onto its own desktop space.

    My experience is consistent with yours - the Dock appearing is intermittent and certainly doesn't happen every time. I do think I've gotten the top bar to appear a few times as well. It's not exactly a game breaking bug for me at least, but would be good to get fixed if possible.

    I prefer to get fully immersed in the game, so windowed mode is a no-go for me.

    @Bluebellflora "But it's not a glitch, it's just the way the Dock works. You could move your Dock to the side of your desktop. Go into System Preferences > Dock and play around with the settings.”

    But it’s not. The Dock doesn’t show up in any other full-screen game I have. This is something the application can control. It’s just that Sims 4 doesn’t. And where you put it doesn’t matter. No setting will help this that I’m aware of.

    That comment was from a year ago, before you posted in this thread and provided more information. Didn't we just go over this over the last few days and ascertain that it's intermittent and yes, possibly not behaving as intended? I'm confused... 😕

  • I can get it to run in full screen but it isn't handling it properly. My toolbar UNHIDES itself when I mouse over it. It should stay hidden.

  • This is old so I doubt anything will be done but I"m having the same problem too. I'm taking practice tests for an exam and can't advance to the next question (the next button is located at the bottom right of the screen) without using hotkeys because the dock keeps popping up. Even when I place the dock on the left side of the screen, it will still pop up when I go to the bottom right. This is really really really annoying.

    You can stop the Dock to appear on selected displays by using DockLock Lite app from the Mac App Store. I hope it helps.
