All Saved Games Lost

I could see my last played family but while I updated it. One of my sims had some mods/cc so I didn't play until it's been updated. Come back and all my saves were gone- prompting me to start a new game. All my families were missing from the library, the saved houses from the gallery. The families that I created are missing from my gallery and so forth. I have all the files still in EA but they're not loading properly. 

Nothing seems to be registering, I copied my folder (EA original) and followed the instructions to see if I could restore my saves that way and nothing.

    I just updated today.  I made a copy of my Sims 4 folder, as usual, and removed my Mods folder so I wouldn't lose any mods. (this has happened to me in the past.) I powered up the game and got the same message as you, start a new game. Frankly, I don't wish to start all over, thank you very much, EA.  I even did a game repair. That didn't change a thing. I'm in the midst of writing What Happened In Your Game Today?  I'm five parts into this story, having started it last July once we switched forums. My Rock Star and his Sweetheart just got married, after waiting for six long years.  Oi! I will substitute a copy of my copy of the games folder and see what happens. I hope someone will come by and help you crack into your game. Oi. (And people wonder why I HATE patches!)

    I just substituted the copy I made of my Sims 4 folder, prior to updating.  Reporting back to let you know, it worked!  If you made a back up, make a copy of it and place it into your Electronic Arts folder. Either remove the older one or add. Old to it so the game won't read it and get confused. Best of luck!
