Allow Sims 4 to be updated for the game file Directory on EA Launcher
Anyone else know that Sims 4 is a big game??
I hate reinstalling The Sims 4. The amount of modpacks I have to re-download just to play it. I move the existing downloaded game files to the install folder I'm 'Redownloading' to, and it doesn't detect anything and downloads everything again anyway. It's broken and inefficient, and EA should know better, you are 21 years older than Steam. Why?...
I already have The Sims 4 installed 2-3 times on my computer already - it's a waste of hard drive space and don't want to risk losing save files on a game I haven't apparently got installed and don't know which file directory the most recent save file is, and this issue is ongoing. EA does not care to keep the same feature they had for the Origin launcher, that actually worked.
Instead, we have to all redownload hours' worth of game files, packs, and expansions just to play again once after my day off is over.
What happened to the 'Repair' game feature, where the computer goes "I found the downloaded files, and redownloading/validating the missing files. There is no problem", takes maybe 20-30 minutes depending of read/write speed. Instead, how it is hours worth of downloaded internet usage, taking up more hard drive space. They just made it so all EA users must suffer by redownloading everything every time, WTF.
Steam is worth using, because it validates the files, and tells you if you have it installed or not as a basic game settings feature, for any game in a Steam Library. This reason is why EA Launcher sucks and others don't like using it.
Change my mind.
