NettieVT That comment from EA help sounds pretty generic and honestly what lots of other players report a support rep saying for various issues that are not in fact on EA's end to solve.
At any rate, since you last posted, I created a new thread covering known causes of the "failed to launch game" error. So if you're seeing that now, please try the other suggestions here:

And if you do want to know whether the issue is your account rather than your computer, the other option is to have a friend or family member test Sims 4 using their account on your computer. The game is free, so they wouldn't have to buy anything. If it works, your account is the issue. If it doesn't, it's probably something else, hopefully something covered in the thread linked above.
