Game not making it to menu

I've been having this issue for months. A patch was released a bit ago, and it completely blocked me from being able to play the game at all. I cleared my mods, did a backup, deleted my old files. Nothing. Ill open the game, the title will start playing, and then it freezes. I've done resets, I've uninstalled and reinstalled both the game, and EA App. I went through my graphics settings, I tried so many different things, and nothing has helped. The linked image is the farthest i've been able to get before it full crashes and takes me back to steam.

  • Idk how this worked, but I figured it out. I ended up going to my ArcControl > Games > Sims4 > Turned off Global Settings > and then changed my gome compatibility to Basic. now it starts up.

  • SamwellPlays  I'm glad that worked, and thanks for the update.  Please understand that your laptop has to support DirectX 11 by definition: any computer running Windows 10 or 11 and not a stripped-down version (and you have Home, so that's not the case) supports DX11.  And your dxdiag says your system supports DirectX 12, which is backwards-compatible with 11.

I don't know why DX11 mode isn't working on your laptop, but maybe try it again now just to see whether the Arc Control settings fixed the issue for both modes.

It looks like Marvel Rivals requires a dedicated graphics card with at least 3 GB VRAM, which you don't have.  That has nothing to do with the version of DirectX you're running.  The error about the system not supporting DX12 (at least that's what google found for me) is misleading; this is about the minimum GPU needed to run the game.  Even the official website says that the DX12 not supported message is about the GPU, not DX12 itself:

Yeah. I'm not exactly sure why my laptop has this bug? Especially in regards to DX11? I would get an error abt my laptop being unable to run it due to DX11 being incompatible. Idk, not the place to figure it out lol.

But, yeah. If Basic looks too "bright/blown out" I found that changing it from "Basic" > "Advanced" actually helped the game run smoother. I'm still confused as to how it works(And the DX11 launch), but I'm not complaining.
