(The worst update in years?) I was about to play the game as always but when I loaded my home unit, for a few seconds the game closed, I have tried everything from removing all the mods to generating a new folder in documents, in the end the problem was with the saved game BUT, I have not had any interaction with the last expansion pack. Honestly, I think it was one of the worst updates in years.
I'm going through this exact same thing! What fixed it?

TM95Gerardo Do you still need help? If so, please let me know whether you can load a different, previously-unplayed household in the same save. Please test with no mods or custom content present.
Please also open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you see. Try to load your main household again, and if you can't, look for a new lastexception. If you find one, open it and delete its first line of text, then save and attach it to a reply here using the paper clip icon.
