"Origin is not installed and is required to play your game"

I'm not sure if this sent because of bad internet, so I'll do it again. I tried to install an expansion pack for the Sims 4 with a cd from a physical expansion pack from Walmart, but it's a couple of years old, and it says that it requires Origin to continue setup. I canceled the installation and took the disc out and decided to play the game as is, but it now says that I need to download Origin to continue. Origin doesn't exist anymore, so I'm not sure on what to do. I uninstalled the game entirely and then reinstalled it, but it's giving me the same error. What do I do?

says location is unavailable and if I have a disc to insert it

  • dee15644  That means the end of the path (the second EA Desktop folder) is unavailable, not that Program Files is.  Do you have an Electronic Arts folder inside C:\Program Files?  If so, is there an EA Desktop folder inside that?  If there is, delete it.  If there is not, delete the Electronic Arts folder inside Program Files.
