Goldfishh16 This error is typically antivirus-related, so try setting an exception for EADesktop.exe. Set exceptions for TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64 as well, or the Bin folder they're in.
If this doesn't help, temporarily disable your antivirus, just long enough to update or repair the game. As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe, and you can reenable the AV and set the exceptions when you've confirmed that Sims 4 works again. Please set the exceptions before you try to play with the AV enabled, or it may flag the game again.
