Signing In

When signing in on the EA for Sims 4, my PC will sign into show that home screen with a red dot on Shop and a green highlighted home button.  The screen appears to have a film over it, and it will not allow me to open my game play.  I then have to go to Task Manager to shut down the Sims4 program.  There are times that my doing this and then reopening it will allow me to go back in and play.  However, after the newest download it has become worse.  Could someone tell me why this may be occurring?   I have removed all mods and cleaned my CC and done a repair.
