Sims 4 Won't Open
For roughly 4 days now I haven't been able to open my game.
I have tried
- removing the mods folder
- removing the sims 4 folder
- running a dxdiag scan
- restarting my computer
- restarting the ea app
- clearing the cache on the ea app
The only thing that works, if I want to play one gaming session, is completely uninstalling and reinstalling my game, which takes 2.5hrs given the number of packs I own. This is entirely unreasonable for obvious reasons.
The sims 4 is the only game attached to my ea account that is having this issue. Please help :(
Additional information, my game is linked to my steam account? It hasn't been an issue for the year this has been true, but could it have suddenly broken?
BanjoLux In general, repairing should be faster and as reliable as reinstalling. The option is in the EA App, under Sims 4 > Manage; or in Steam, it's called "Verify integrity of the game files" and should be somewhere under Properties.
This sounds like an antivirus-related issue, so try repairing the game and setting exceptions for TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64, or the entire Bin folder they're in. Set an exception for EADesktop.exe as well, whether you play through Steam or the EA App. I'm not sure from your wording whether you launch through Steam or merely have the accounts linked.
