sims not opening after march 23rd update

I haven't been able to open my Sims 4 since the update, it just freezes at the title screen and stops responding. I have tried taking out my mods folder and deleting localthumbcache but it doesn't help.

Same, it stops after the home screen when I try to play any of mye safed files. Just the same screen going on for ages. Tried to repair my game in the EA app, but same happens. No mods ever on my game, but that message still comes up on the home screen. Never done that before either.

  • c4it1inn rufsetufsa  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If that doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
