Steam and EA app connection WHY?

I received Decor to the Max kit as a gift on Steam, I play through the EA app which is connected to my Steam, the pack does not appear in the game nor can it be installed! The only option is to buy it again through the EA app, in that case why connect with Steam?? No CC or mods in my game!

  • aleks70de  There's nothing to fix.  This has always been the deal between EA and Steam, and it's clearly stated in many places.  If players don't like it, they can choose to only buy from EA, or only from Steam.

Thanks, but I don't think we should be silent, if enough of us complain, they should fix it!

  • aleks70de  The deal between Steam and EA for Sims 4 is, to outside observers at least, nothing like the deal for Sims 3, which happened a long time ago and may even predate Sims 3 requiring Origin to use.  EA wasn't putting new games in Steam for a long time and then relented only a few years ago, and what you see with Sims 4 is the result.

I understand that, but all my The Sims 3 packs from Steam are normally installed via the AE app, so I don't understand why the problem is only with Sims 4 packs?

  • Aneedawells  Please uninstall both your EA App and Steam copies of Sims 4.  Reinstall the game from Steam along with the packs you own there.  Then open the EA App, click Sims 4 > Manage > Manage add-ons, and download the packs you own there, but NOT a second copy of the base game.

  • Sims 4 base game is free on Steam.  If you install the base game through Steam it will unlock and download everything you own on EA and Steam.  (Depending on how many packs you have it can take a while and I don't recall anything on steam telling me how long it would take... Steam just sort of seems to "discover' what you own and download it...)

However, it doesn't seem to work the same way if you own something on Steam and have everything installed through the EA app.  Doesn't appear to be any communication from Steam to EA, just EA to Steam.

I have the same problem! but I unfortunely bought rent and seasons and now I can not get them to connect to each other and can not even play any of my other sims packs just rent or seasons on either EA or steam! I am very disappointed! everything was perfectly fine until I downloaded these two packs!
