Tips for Dealing with Simulation Lag?

Hello. The simulation lag/lag in general has been horrible in my game for a while now. I'm almost sure it's not a Mod problem too. I'm wondering if this is something to do with the new 1.113 update?

This is a few examples of what has been going on in my game lately:

1. Sims just standing around and staring at each other for a long time before socializing and interacting.
2. Game freezes/takes several moments before clicking on the pie menu, fridge, stove, etc.
3. When turning the camera around, the game stutters and freezes up.
4. The in-game clock is out of sync- going back several sim minutes or hours into the past.
5. Sims will stand around for several hours, doing nothing.
6. Game freezing randomly and crashing several times.

Here's what I have tried:
1. Restarting my PC/Checking to see if it meets the proper requirements.
2.  Updating the game and my mods for the newest update.
3. Repairing the game through the EA App. (this helped a little, but not by much).
4. Clearing cache files, screenshots, and broken mods/cc.
5. Clearing my Tray and Library. (again, this did help a little, but not by much).
6. I also have the Simulation Unclogger and Simulation Lag Fix Mod.
7. Taking my mods folder out, renaming it, and starting the game to create a brand new folder, then moving everything to the new folder.

Anyone else having these problems? I've been noticing it a lot over the past few weeks. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to help with these issues? It's almost to the point where the game is unplayable for me. Which is sad, because I really love playing my current household! 😥 I've spent a while trying to figure this problem out. It just feels like every time EA releases a new update/patch, it makes everything 10x worse. I was having these issues before 1.113, but not as badly. Any solutions and advice would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

  • charmingcowplant  Please test with no mods or custom content, as in, remove the Mods folder and do NOT add any of its contents back.  You don't need to save your progress.

If your main saves are still affected, please test a new save, for comparison's sake, still with no mods or cc.

If that doesn't help either, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
