My game just updated and I'm having this same problem. Immediately googled and did all the "fixes" AI suggested and none of them work. Game is now broken, I'm having to ask my sims to clean up every little thing, and of course, they aren't autonomously cleaning up anything, just leaving plates on the floor and then getting upset when they start to smell.
this is hands down the most game breaking and annoying bug ive experienced. Im spending $0 till this BS is fixed.
