When trying into a lot, you are greeted by load error 800/801. Buildings start to disappear and you also get endless loading.

I have the same problem, also a MacBook Air 2020. I started rebuilding every lot in every world, but they just revert back to the default.
I unfortunately did not, I've been getting infinite loading screens with the same code at the end once it finally stops. I'll probably try to start a new game and see if the same thing happens, I don't want to break my existing game any further.
This is really frustrating, I've been having this issue for weeks.
My saves keep losing custom-built lots - they revert to the base game default version, even though households/Sims data stays intact. This has now happened on my original save AND a brand new fresh save, so it's not isolated to one file.
What I've tried:
This also caused a related issue where apartment lots specifically became unopenable (error 801, walls up/down grayed out) in one world, which was fixed by starting a new save - but regular builds still keep reverting even on new saves.
Platform: Mac, 2024 MacBook Air, M3 chip, 16GB RAM
Has anyone else experienced builds reverting to default, or found a permanent fix?
I have a similar issue, although it has nothing to do with rentals for me. I can’t load two lots in Henford, 1 and 5 Cobblebottom Street. They launch into infinite loading or error code when I try to load them. I have hardly played with these lots and only have the original, standard builds on them. I have no mods. I have even tried placing the same standard lots from the gallery, but I get the same results as before.

Whenever I go into the gallery and I try to download any builds and place it in any world I get error code 801. It will ask me to launch the game and when I do the same error code keeps appearing. I have repaired my game twice now and the error code keeps appearing. Please fix this so that I can downloads builds please.

I’m having the same issue. Lots disappearing and infinite loading screens. I keep getting the error 801 message but I haven’t got any mods on and I’ve repaired the game and deleted the cache folder. I was playing a legacy challenge but I’ve lost it all. It puts me off playing this game to be honest 😞
I am having the same issues as well :( I don't have any mods just using the regular expansion packs and I've had so many issues with my lots disappearing. Ive tried saving everything to my gallery but at one point I had an issue where the houses I saved were no. longer there and I had an empty gallery folder. Luckily I was able to restore one of my more recent saves but now I am having the 801 notification when I am in the middle of gameplay.
