[RL] 'Secret Witness' Guilty Sentiment without reason

I'm using the new Royalty & Legacy pack and I think this may be a new sentiment that comes from that pack. I established a Dynasty with a pre-existing family (pre downloading the new pack), and the married Sims in the family keep getting a guilty "Secret Witness" sentiment after they WooHoo. The wife is the Dynasty Head and the husband is rank 4 of 4 in the Dynasty. I couldn't figure out at first what was causing it, but I spent a day working to remove the sentiment, had them WooHoo again, and saw it reappear for both of them. In that case, they hadn't replaced the negative sentiment with any positive ones. Day 2, I worked to remove the sentiment again, and even got the husband to develop two positive sentiments for her while she just lost the negative one. WooHoo again; this time, husband with the positive sentiments kept those, but she without any gained the same negative one again.

Issues with this:

  1. They're married, with two children. It's no secret they WooHoo, to anyone.
  2. Even if they were two Sims having an affair, their affair partner shouldn't inspire a "Secret Witness" sentiment, because they are part of the secret. Only getting caught by a third party should inspire such a sentiment.

Gameplay wise, it's negatively impacting the Unity of the Dynasty unnecessarily. Everyone else has a relationship of 100 with each other, so this is the only thing that could explain the dropping Unity.

If anyone can figure out the cheat code to remove this specific Sentiment, it would be much appreciated, because it's really starting to drive me crazy.

  • The same thing is happening in my game. My couple is married, but I haven't formed a dynasty yet. The wife is the only one receiving this sentiment. I'm playing on PC, no mods, new save file.

I've tried it with multiple households and different scenarios, and my sims keep getting the sentiment. The first was the thebe househould Cordelia was pregnant with her secret lovers baby. after the baby was born she got the secret witness sentiment for her husband but on his he had no new sentiment from her and if you look at his notebook he is not aware of any secrets. He believes the child is his also i've noticed that he did not go to the hospital with her to deliver but still had the preparental panic.

The second incident was with my created sim who is now apart of the alto dynasty and they are married. they both have the secret of public woohoo. after she baecame pregnant and came home from the hospital which he went with her she came back with the secret witness sentiment and he had none.

    happened with mods and without

Hi crinrict ! Apologies for the delay, but as others have confirmed (and I see you've added the tags already) this happens without mods or CC.

I do not have any mods. I usually check the box for "enable custom content and mods" to allow for some CC for another save file. As requested, though, I unchecked the box, restarted the game, and tried again. I was still able to replicate the issue. Both husband and wife had 3-4 positive sentiments before WooHoo, and both lost all but one of the positive sentiments and gained the Secret Witness sentiment after WooHoo.

  • Vanilla test game. New Sims 4 folder. No CC or mods.

This happened randomly to my test couple. They were elders. Not in any Dynasty. Telling stories to their dogs seemed to fix it, but maybe the dogs being in the room was a problem. Occasionally my Sims get embarrassed by having a pet in the room with an open shower.

    Confusing 🤷‍♀️

  • Same is happening in my save file. I am on Xbox so no mods or cc. At first I thought it was because one of them is a ghost. But that doesn't make sense as even thought she's not alive, she's still married to him. Now I avoid having them woohoo and instead have them be romantic in other ways such as watching the sky together.

  • Definitely from the Royalty and Legacy EP because it's part of the Scandal system, but it should not apply to a sim who isn't A: famous, or B: part of a Dynasty.

As for the bug itself, I had it happen as well. Had my married couple woohoo and suddenly she feels guilty. Guilty for WHAT exactly, woohooing her own husband? The father of her daughters and the man she's utterly devoted to (disabled Attraction as well).

Only thing I can suggest, which is how I resolved mine until this is fixed, is enable testingcheats and select Remove All Sentiments from both of them. With any luck, the Sentiment fades fast, though it does make me hesitant to any woohooing attempts despite them being a happily married couple.
