Rocks and dig sites not respawning (Patch 1.112.512)

I've searched the forum and the last update I found was from 7 years ago. Reposting as this is a new issue for me.

Product: Sims 4
Platform: PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get to Work, Crystal Creations, Growing Together, Jungle Adventure, Outdoor Adventure
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go to any BG neighborhood (or those in the listed expansion, game, and stuff packs) and search for a dig or rock site. Where they normally spawn, they are not here. I downloaded a rock/dig lot specifically to test what was going on and rocks/dig sites still didn't respawn after digging up the entire lot.
What happens when the bug occurs? Rocks and dig piles do not appear in any of the neighborhoods.
What do you expect to see? Rocks and dig piles respawning after being dug up, even if I have to wait a few in-game sim days for it to happen.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? No. Never.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes. After downloading Crystal Creations.

  • This has been a problem for years.  I literally groaned out loud when I saw the live event call for collecting a crystal in Foundry Cove because I knew I had already dug them up.  I took a sim I gave the curator aspiration recently to see if it was working correctly because I had avoided using it for years.  I sent her to the area to meet a family and gave her the Always Welcome reward so she could even spend the night in the area.  Nothing respawned.  I did finally find an undug crystal rock behind the Willow Creek Library so I was able to complete the event task.

She then needed a fossil and since nothing collected in the Oasis Spring Park has respawned, even though I have a family living there, I took her to Britechester to fish behind Darby's Den.  I spied a fossil rock, queued up dig and canceled the fishing action.  When she was halfway to the rock it literally vanished from sight, causing the dig action to disappear and she turned back to Darby's Den.  I've never run into that before.

I play on PC and have never used mods/cc.

I am having the same problem, mainly in the Realm of Magic pack in the Magical Realm and in the Oasis Springs Park. It used to be only Oasis Springs, today I noticed it was happening in Willow Creek. Realm of Magic was over the last week. I have tried repairing the game, of course restarting. The only mod I have is MCC. I had the same issue without it installed as well.

  • This problem just started with, regardless of mods.  I even cleaned the game out by creating a new game and importing the tray and saves, just to give the best possible chance of success.

I've stayed in Oasis Springs for an entire season with no dig/rock spots respawning. I do a loop of every neighborhood each day to check.  The plants are fine, but nothing else..

  • Hello dear! I need a help. When completing the second stage of the online quest "Call of Nature", it is impossible to collect stones in Foundry Cove. No mods. Latest ver.

In detail: crystal search points are not being generated (don't exist initially and it don't appear during the game), there is not a single crystal stone in the entire Foundry Cove (there are usually a lot of them there), I also did not find the right carrier in debugging mode, I only found pits for digging out fossils. I've been monitoring it for a week now, I've been going to the site, I've tried to stay on it for 1+ game hour, return "home" and go to the site again.

    Maybe missed another discussion.

  • It's doable if you try to spend the night on site. Try using a tent or a sleep bag and wait there for an entire night and most of the day after. Do not leave the neighborhood.

  • I've had this issue in the same save for a few weeks now and have tried every possible fix listed online. I deleted the cache, removed all of my mods and custom content, and even repaired the game. I know it is specific to this save, which I've been building up for years, because I tested a new save, and collectibles are spawning just fine. It's not that they won't respawn after collecting them; rocks, crystals, and time capsules do not spawn at all, period. Has anyone found a fix that will work without starting over completely in a new save?

To add some more information, I've checked every single neighborhood in every world I own where the collectible spawners are. I've stayed at the same lot for over 24 hours in sim time. Nothing spawns. It's like they were deleted entirely from this save. Frogs and plants spawn with no issues; only rocks and dig sites are not spawning at all.

  • As of August 2nd, 2025, I have this issue as well in many worlds. My game is without mods and has the latest update. I repaired it a few times, deleted the localthumbcache.package, to no avail. Currently on the hunt for the last MySim Trophy and it's a pain.
