Battlefield 5 Slow Startup and Long Loading Time
Update (Edited: 06-08-2025): Even BF6's open beta loads fine on the same PC—just 50 seconds from clicking "Play" to reaching the main menu. Update (Edited: 30-07-2025): Performed a clean reinstall of Windows 11 and the game still takes over two minutes to load. A friend of mine with a different setup is experiencing the same issue. I suspect the problem is related to the anti-cheat or the game itself. I’ve attached a screen recording to this forum post showing the problem, including an on-screen stopwatch and Task Manager for reference. Everything seemed to be running smoothly—until I noticed that launching BF5 now takes significantly longer than it used to. Only BF5 is affected, I timed it with a stopwatch and the startup consistently takes around 2.5 minutes. The other games' load time from pressing play till it enters full-screen are: BF3 = 12 Seconds BF4 = 16 Seconds BF1 = 40 Seconds Issue description: After clicking Play in the EA App, the EA Anti-Cheat launches and initializes normally. Once the Anti-Cheat finishes, there's a 30-33 second delay before the game window appears. The game remains in small window and shows a black screen for another 50-60 seconds. Eventually, the game maximizes into a full-screen window and loads the title screen. Once fully open, the game runs fine, except it loads map extremely slowly as well. Here's what I've tried so far: Confirmed that Windows and NVIDIA drivers are fully up to date. Repaired, reinstalled, and cleared the cache for both the EA App and BF5. Ran both the EA App and BF5 with administrator privilege and in offline + clean boot. Ran both the EA App and BF5 on a different SSD, ensure SSD firmware are up to date. Performed a reinstall of the NVIDIA driver using DDU; cleared DirectX and NVIDIA GL caches. Reinstalled Windows using the "Fix problems with Windows Update" in-place upgrade. Reset BIOS to default settings, did a CMOS reset too. Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue, and I’m starting to run out of ideas. Has anyone else experienced this? I’d appreciate any tips or suggestions. Hello. I have the following issue: when I play Battlefield 5 online, during the loading of any map the game starts stuttering a little (like micro-stutters), and it is very noticeable. Even after the map finishes loading and I start playing, there are still slight stutters at the beginning. The interesting part is that after some time everything becomes normal and smooth. I had a similar issue in Battlefield 2042, but it was much less noticeable, and now it has completely disappeared. I also have a video where these stutters are visible on the FPS graph. Then I searched on the internet, and some people say it happens because of DirectX 12, but in my case it wasn’t even enabled. After that, I read that it might be related to shader loading/compilation. I also tried switching from HDMI to DisplayPort, but there is no difference, except that on DisplayPort it feels slightly worse. For example, when launching Battlefield 2042, sometimes at the very beginning the top part of the screen flickers a little. I would appreciate any help, because honestly I have no idea what this could be :)weapon mastery not received. ea help says they can't give me the assignment.
After reaching lvl 10 with the sjögrun shotgun I didn't receive the mastery assignment and i checked all the things to do as per the FAQ. (also missing the urban blue sight skin so i'm guessing it's a lvl progress bug) After I reached out to ea help where an advisor was able to grant me the previously completed masteries for the classes but not for the weapon so he told me to go play a round to see if it would update but it didn't. I reached out later and the new advisor did the same and now the proficiencies for the classes also reappeared. I was quite addement and shared screenshots that I particularly meant this weapon but even after asking his senior colleagues and the team he said they dont grant weapon rewards as it is an ingame process. I fail to understand how the ingame process for the class masteries/proficiencies is any different from the weapon onces and am wondering if anyone knows what to do if ea help is also insufficient.
Help with BF V
So a friend on xbox gifted me the code to redeem a copy of battlefield V. (Im on PC and he is on xbox). I redeemed it using the xbox app on pc, but then there dosen't appear to be a way to download or install it. What am i doing wrong? It is in my library and says "owned" on the xbox app but I can't figure out how to download and install it. Thank you!
Servers are (almost) unplayable: lag + stuttering
On top of the ongoing chat bug (for well over 3 weeks now, basically nobody can type/send messages), there’s a new major issue since the last 1–2 days: the servers are almost unplayable. What’s happening: heavy lag constant stuttering / hitching during gameplay This is not limited to one region — it affects both EU and Asian servers, and it happens on community servers as well as official DICE servers.
System crashed and screen freezed
Battlefiled 1, Battlefiled V and Battlefiled 2042 crashed. When I launch games, running about 10 minutes, the screen been freezed, I can't move mouse, and keyboard not available. Computer be freezed. I use another device to ping my PC, it timeout. no crash dumps appear, also Windows can't catch dumps, no blue screen. I think CPU be freeze? System no responsive.
