PS5 Veilguard, no HDR
When I open the graphics settings, only brightness and contrast are available in the settings, not HDR configuration. I saw another message here where the player was able to fix it by forcing HDR in PS5 settings, but that doesn’t work for me. I am able to use HDR in other games, so it’s not an issue with my PS5/TV connection.BadKen8 days agoRising Rookie32Views0likes0CommentsA heartbreak for a long-time fan (Review after 4 runs)
l've been playing Dragon Age since the begining and l've loved it deeply. But "The Veilguard" has left me bitterly disappointed. It feels more like a linearjump-and-run than a true RPG. The world feels restricted-where are the secrets and the real exploration? The dialogues are the biggest letdown. Dragon Age was about consequences, Dut here, feels like Coesn't matter what I lick it all leads to the same outcome. The "kick" is gone. And the omances? They feel rushed and shallow with way too little interaction. Returning characters like Morrigan are shockingly "nice" and have lost their edge. Seeing Varric die and Dorian only as a cameo feels like a slap in #h2 face for veterans. We waited so long for this? The new characters like Taash and Lucanis have so much potential, but the game doesn't let them shine because everything is "fast- paced" and simplified. The graphics and controls are great, but the soul of Dragon Age-the dark lore and the tough choices--is missing. I hope the next game returns to the roots of the Chantry, Cassandra, and the grit that made this series legendary. Constructive Criticism and Story Potential for Dragon Age: The Veilguard As a long-time fan of the series, I see a lot of untapped potential in the storytelling and the handling of established characters. Here are my suggestions on how the depth and "grit" of the predecessors could have been preserved: 1. Blackwall and the Grey Wardens: Blackwall is a character who never truly "fell" but simply went into hiding. He could have been brilliantly reintroduced as the "true" First Warden. A thrilling plot twist would have been to expose the current First Warden in The Veilguard as an impostor and a liar who is keeping the real Blackwall imprisoned somewhere. This would have massively strengthened the moral complexity of the Warden lore. 2. Dorian Pavus and the Leadership of Minrathous: Dorian is one of the strongest characters in the series, but unfortunately, he is wasted here as a mere supporting character (cameo). In Inquisition, it was hinted that he wanted to reform Tevinter. He should have acted as a shadow regent, leading Minrathous in secret. Using him only as a "placeholder" does not do justice to his potential. 3. Morrigan and the "Old Edge": Morrigan seems far too friendly and "softened" in this installment. Fans expect a certain level of aloofness and sharpness from her. It would have been narratively much more satisfying if the player had to win her over again through hard persuasion, rather than having her be so accommodating from the start. 4. Leliana and Harding's Development: The question arises: Where is the master spy Leliana? She could have been shown in "retirement," from which she must first be laboriously recruited. This would have provided a wonderful bridge to Harding: Instead of simply presenting Harding as an active member, a questline could have shown her being commissioned by Leliana. Through contact with a lyrium dagger, Harding could have undergone her own outstanding character development that leaves a lasting impact on her. 5. Cassandra and the Traces of the Chantry: Cassandra could have been reintegrated through the lore—perhaps via a questline where the player follows her trail while she investigates the history of the Chantry or the Seekers. This would have deepened the sense of world-building. 6. Varric: Fate After Death: Varric is the face of the series. His death in The Veilguard carries great weight. A fascinating possibility would have been to include him as a spirit (similar to Cole). Trapped between life and final death in the Fade, he could have continued to accompany us as a melancholic mentor. Conclusion: The graphics and controls are successful, but the soul of Dragon Age lies in hard consequences and edgy characters. I hope that future content returns more to these roots.126Views0likes1CommentDA Veilguard from a longtime player to Devs
I’ve got to say it straight: Dragon Age: The Veilguard is easily the best the series has ever been, and it blows Inquisition out of the water in all the ways that actually matter. Don't worry about the sales and review bombing please keep making Dragon Age games for the real players in the house. Rook is a massive upgrade as a protagonist—more defined, more emotionally grounded, and far more connected to the story. They don’t just exist to react to plot beats; they shape them. Their personality, their choices, and their relationships give the whole narrative a clarity and momentum that Inquisition never managed. The companions are on another level too—deeper, sharper, more memorable, and actually essential to the narrative instead of just orbiting around the main plot. Their arcs feel more meaningful, their interactions feel more natural, and they each bring something distinct to the story. The questlines are tighter and far more engaging. No more wandering through giant empty zones doing chores. The more focused structure gives the game a stronger sense of purpose and makes every area feel intentional and alive. Combat is a massive upgrade. It’s faster, cleaner, and just more fun. And mages? They’ve never felt this good. Finally powerful, fluid, and satisfying to play instead of clunky or underwhelming. The factions are all distinct and genuinely interesting, each with its own identity and purpose. The villains are nuanced and tied deeply into the lore, and the way Veilguard connects everything back to the history of Thedas is honestly impressive. It explains so much of what came before without feeling like a lore dump. And of course, Solas. Love him or hate him, he’s one of the most complex, well‑crafted characters in the entire Dragon Age universe. Veilguard only reinforces how layered he is—his motivations, his contradictions, his history, all of it. Few characters in the series have that level of depth or narrative weight. And look—let the haters hate. I’ve played every Dragon Age game. Dragon Age II was my favorite for years. I know this series. A lot of people still look at Origins through nostalgia‑fogged glasses, remembering a version of it that never really existed. Veilguard earns its praise because it’s actually doing the work, not because it’s coasting on old memories. And honestly, the fandom needs to support games like this. If we want more story‑driven, character‑focused RPGs, we have to show it. Otherwise we’re going to keep getting the same copy‑paste open‑world clones or yet another “MMORPG” nobody asked for. Veilguard is the kind of game that deserves to thrive so studios keep making experiences with this level of heart and craft. For me, Veilguard is the most confident, most focused, and most emotionally resonant Dragon Age yet. It’s everything I love about the series, but sharper, smarter, and finally free of the open‑world bloat that held Inquisition back.8969j16qr0hx2 months agoSeasoned Newcomer405Views2likes10CommentsShout out to EA
Shout out to EA for making bioware release a game before it was ready. Im not even mad at bioware for dragon age veilguard. I know they had plans to make it so much better and actually match the rest of the franchise. Bit, EA is so money hungry that they just want to push out unfinished products so that people get all disappointed and mad at the game itself for being such a let down. You suck, EA. Seriously. Why wont you let people finish their games? I waited like 10 years for this game to come out just to be frustrated. The ending was absolutely trash. The writing was poorly written. It was so obviously unfinished. It felt like a bunch of rough drafts smashed together in order to make a deadline because that's exactly what it is. The combat is crap. Even on story difficulty im getting spammed like crazy. Can't dodge roll because the hit boxes are so massive I could be feet away from the enemy and still get knocked down. Then you get 4 reavers in one battle while their all spamming the same 3 moves over and over again. The romances are crap. Most of the plot made no sense. Like the Harding thing. Why go through all those quests with her having those unique powers all for them not to be used at all. You get one whole kiss scene with a love interest and at the end of the game you dont even get a celebration scene. It just fades to black. Seriously? The only entertaining part in the whole game was Solas turning into the wolf, and the only reason that was kept was because it was in the trailer, otherwise EA would've mostly likely had them change that too. Like they changed everything else. Like bro, let bioware cook. They dont need your bullcrap or your deadlines. I love bioware, but I'm beginning to hate EA. Between this is and the Sims, you guys are failing so badly I'm surprised you are even profiting. Good luck in the future, because there are a lot of people like me, ready to drop EA completely and never spend another dime on your trash. K, thanks bye. Hope you have the lives you deserve!ElijahTaranis3 months agoSeasoned Newcomer123Views2likes0CommentsDragon Age Veilguard Load errors...nothing works ;-;

I have tried loading manual saves but I only get load errors. I have tried creating a new game and I have again the same issues. I fired up Veilguard for the first time yesterday after preordering it, and right away I noticed I was missing my Blood Dragon Armor. My Deluxe items were there, but the preorder bonus was not. I did the usual, repair game then uninstall-reinstall which did not work. I contacted Steam support first, since that’s the platform it's on, but they told me they don’t handle in-game items and to reach out to EA instead. Now after talking to EA, a few minutes ago, I found out the game never actually synced properly to my EA account. That’s why the armor didn’t unlock. And because Veilguard isn’t showing up in their system as tied to my EA account, they told me there’s nothing they can do. I am not sure what to do next as Steam says it’s not their responsibility, EA says they can’t fix it, and I’m stuck in the middle, with out the item. I will tell you this, that Veilguard is the first and last game I will preorder from EA213Views1like2CommentsDragon Age VeilGaurd and what to hope for a new Dragon age game
I finally played and beat the game. I was kind of disappointed in the ending I was really hoping that Rook and their partner would get married or something and help the Warden’s still take down the blight and dark spawn that was left or continuing to help get rid of the Antam and Venatori that still was lurking around. I would have loved more Romance scenes with all the characters that Rook can fall in love with. If there is a new dragon age coming out I would LOVE to see Lucanis in it as a character that you can still romance with. He is my favorite character in this game. Definitely would love to have him back in a new Dragon Age with more stories about him and to romance him further.EmoGothVampire7 months agoRising Newcomer212Views0likes1CommentThe Fate of the Leaders of Thedas (And other characters)
Hi, everyone. Hope you’re doing well. The lack of the Dragon Age Keep (wish it was kept) made me question a myriad of things, including the fates of the characters we had met as the Grey Warden, Hawke and the Inquisitor Did we get any news regarding the fate of the leaders of Thedas in the Veilguard? And other characters we had met in the previous games? Including our former companions. Aside from Aveline and Sebastian and Sten and Marius (not a companion but was Calpernia’s former lover). I’m aware that you can get some of them killed but what exactly happened to them if you had spared them? What happened to the leaders and recruits of the Inquisition, Alistair, Anora, Loghain, Fiona, Bhelen, Harrowmont, Irving, Eamon, Isolde, Connor, Teagan, Samson, Feynriel (who goes to Tevinter if you allow him), Celene, Gaspard, Briala, Abelas, Cyril, Alexius, Calpernia, and Meredith who is somehow still alive (or dead after knowing what happened to Kirkwall in the game)? And the list goes on... Regarding Calpernia, her absence was strange since this game takes place in HER homeland of Tevinter. I can only surmise that she might’ve left the Venatori after you had exposed Corypheus’s plans to her in Inquisition. But what happened to her afterwards? I know that she almost became a companion but that’s it. So… have they all perished in the Sixth Blight or are they still alive? And most importantly, who was the Divine? Cheers563Views0likes4Comments[Feedback] No Separate Aiming Inversion
Hello, this is about a basic accessibility setting that the game lacks. The game doesn't have separate inversion for the aiming, there's only two settings called simply "Invert Y-Axis" and "Invert X-Axis". I play with inverted camera and non-inverted aim and therefore need separate inversion for the aiming. The normal camera inversion also can't affect anything else, such as map scroll or lock-on target switching. There is separate sensitivity for the aiming, but not inversion. So you should add two more settings and rename the ones you have so that you have "Invert Camera Y-Axis", "Invert Camera X-Axis", "Invert Aiming Y-Axis" and "Invert Aiming X-Axis". This should be available for both mouse and controller. Again, make sure that normal camera inversion does not affect anything else.LAN0868 months agoRising Novice1.2KViews1like5Comments- SevenUnicorn2418 months agoRising Newcomer186Views0likes1Comment
To EA Games & BioWare – Please Release the Blood Dragon Armor
Dear EA Games and the amazing team at BioWare, As long-time fans of the Dragon Age series, we’re beyond excited for the release of The Veilguard. This franchise has given us unforgettable stories, deep choices, and some of the most iconic gear in RPG history. One of those legendary pieces is the Blood Dragon Armor — a true symbol of the series. From Dragon Age: Origins to Mass Effect 2, this armor became a fan favorite for its unique design and powerful presence. That’s why we’re asking, as passionate fans: Please include the Blood Dragon Armor as a pre-order bonus in Dragon Age: The Veilguard! It would be a perfect nod to the roots of the franchise. A meaningful gift for returning fans. And a powerful marketing moment for the game's release. We’d love nothing more than to once again don that crimson armor and walk into the Fade feeling like true Wardens. Let’s honor the legacy — and carry it proudly into this new chapter. With respect and excitement, – A loyal Dragon Age fan who never forgot Ferelden8eafac0b915926fd8 months agoRising Newcomer102Views1like0CommentsPre order code
Wondering if anyone that was having the issue of both the seller and ea not helping to give people the pre order items actually got it sorted. This game is almost impossible for me to play without autorun. I have arthritis in my hands. Hand arthritis afflicts nearly 1 in 2 women and 1 in 4 men. That is a huge market being disenfranchised. The tean added so many features for so many groups it is astounding that this - likely the largest group of "special" people in the world - was forgotten. Making it worse, on the very first day the game was released a post was made requesting this feature, and an EA rep said it would passed on to the team. Now, 7 months later, crickets. Please don't make us wait for a disabled modder to create a solution. Thanks.SatiricaGala9 months agoRising Newcomer115Views0likes1CommentCan't play game after moving off of external hard drive
Hello, I recently downloaded Dragon Age: Veilguard onto my external hard drive because I did not have space for it on my internal hard drive. The connection to my external hard drive was not great, so I was experiencing some lag. I made space on my internal hard drive and moved the Veilguard game folder to the EA Games folder along with all of my other installed games. The EA app says I do not have the game installed, and says as much when I double click on the .exe file directly. There is no option to manage the properties or repair the game like there are with the other games I have installed. I tried changing the default install location in the settings, uninstalling and reinstalling the EA app and using the App Recovery tool, to no avail. I have seen suggestions to start downloading the game again and picking the location of the installed program. The problem is DA:V is a whopping 91GB download, and it won't let me begin the download without making space for it, which I am unable to do. Is there a way to go in and fix the installation files, or am I forced to delete and reinstall? My internet connection is spotty at best, and the EA app will often stop downloading without resuming once it is back online. So I come back after stepping away from my computer minutes or hours later to find I have made no progress on the download. I'd rather not have to take another three to four days to re-download such a large file if possible.3e5a44fe9061f9229 months agoRising Newcomer145Views0likes1CommentSimply Amazing
I just wanted to take a moment to express how truly amazing this game is. From start to finish, it has everything a gamer could ask for – a fantastic story that had me hooked right from the very beginning, great combat music, engaging puzzles, incredible voice acting, captivating cut scenes, and dialogue that shines, especially during the closing scenes when every character has their final say. The last few chapters were particularly enjoyable for me because, unlike most end levels where you face extremely difficult bosses, this game strikes a perfect balance between combat and storytelling. The conclusion, with the camera seamlessly swinging from one character to another without any cuts, combined with the stunning graphics and orchestral music, had my heart pounding and my hair standing on end. That, to me, is the sign of a truly compelling game. Kudos to everyone involved in making this game – I thoroughly enjoyed it. On a side note, I found two trophies to be particularly challenging. The first one is 'Enhancements,' where you have to fully level up certain armor. I was at the point of no return, having completed every side quest but still hadn't found a gold legendary primary weapon. Despite opening numerous chests and maxed-out merchants, it remained elusive. I eventually returned to the map and searched for unopened chests, finally discovering one in the Wetlands on the stairs whisp puzzle in the ruined castle. The second challenging trophy was 'Clear Minds Open Hearts.' I only realized at the point of no return that I hadn't made the right choices in the conversation during the quest 'Regrets Of The Dread Wolf,' which made my heart sink. After investing 50 hours into the game, missing out on the trophy was a major disappointment. Fortunately, I had a save point that took me back to that quest, but it only had me with 4 out of the 5 items needed to progress. The last item was locked behind blite, which required a 'Champions Of Essence' rune to access. After many more hours of gameplay, I finally found the rune I needed after defeating a boss, retrieved the final piece, and made a save before the conversation. Phew, that was frustrating. So, my advice to anyone playing this game is to ensure you make the right choices during the conversation at the end of the quest "Regrets Of The Dread Wolf." It will save you so much time. By the way, is it wrong I had a bit of a thing for Neve haha 🤣 Thanks again to everyone involved in creating this game – it's one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played 🙂👍🏆SLOPPY100110 months agoRising Newcomer150Views1like1CommentMy DAV Feedback: I don't actually hate the game.
Overall, Dragon Age: Veilguard is shaping up to be a solid RPG in its own right, but as part of the Dragon Age franchise, it feels somewhat disconnected from the series’ established lore and tone. Here are some specific areas where I think the game could improve or benefit from more attention: Lore and Setting Consistency While Veilguard works well as a standalone fantasy RPG or even a spin-off, it struggles to feel like a true Dragon Age title. The series has long been known for its dark, medieval fantasy world with mature political and moral themes. The shift in tone and presentation in Veilguard risks losing the depth and atmosphere that made the earlier games so beloved. Staying closer to the established lore and moral complexity would help it resonate more with long-time fans. Character Depth and Representation It’s great to see Veilguard continue the series’ tradition of inclusivity, including LGBT+ characters like the non-binary companion. However, representation works best when it’s woven naturally into complex, multifaceted characters. In previous games like Inquisition, characters’ identities were an important part of who they were, but not their only defining trait. In Veilguard, some companions feel reduced to a single characteristic or label, which limits their emotional depth and the player’s ability to connect with them. Developing these characters beyond their identities would make them feel more authentic and relatable. Player Agency and Dialogue Options One of the strengths of earlier Dragon Age games was the freedom to shape your character’s personality, morals, and playstyle through meaningful dialogue choices. In Veilguard, the dialogue options often feel limited or like variations of the same response, which restricts player agency. It would benefit the game to offer a broader range of meaningful choices, allowing players to truly roleplay and express their unique approach to situations. Bringing in more feedback from fans and the community, and investing in a strong story writing team, could help ensure that the game lives up to the series’ legacy.115Views0likes0CommentsLeave your prejudice in the Fade. The Veil has torn
The negative judgment is clearly driven by a shared stance rooted in discomfort towards non-binary people. Most of the reviews are misleading and written by people who haven’t actually played this game—maybe just the first five minutes. I read that someone called it "Disney-like," but perhaps that player hasn’t seen the Hoosberg Swamps, post-devastation Minrathous, or even the Necropolis. As for the “shallow dialogue”? Maybe there’s some functional illiteracy going around. The characters are incredibly well-developed and deep; they all interact with each other, creating unique dynamics. The game and gameplay are smooth and well-animated. To be understood and appreciated, a game needs to be played in its entirety—including all the side missions, which add depth, emotion, story, and bring all the pieces together. I finished it in tears. I’ve played every title, and since I romanced Solas in Inquisition, what happens—thanks to completing the side quests and the Crossroads—between him and the Inquisitor at the end of Veilguard moved me deeply. The voice acting is masterful; the emotions and intentions are truly immersive. The maps are highly detailed, and you can create a variety of playstyles. For me, it’s a 9/10 game. Those who complain about the lack of open world clearly haven’t explored the maps, which are vast and easy to get lost in. That said, there are things that could’ve been done better, like how some of the returning characters were handled. A few left a bitter taste in my mouth because of how differently they were designed. I would have liked to see crafting return, but the upgrade mechanics are still solid. I also would’ve liked to rely more on character tactics. All in all: PLAY IT, and then we’ll talk. Immerse yourself in the story, don’t go in with prejudice because of a community that’s taken a stance against the character Taash and their identity. I want to emphasize that their story is incredibly deep—a journey of self-discovery, seeking maternal approval, and ultimately feeling truly themselves.I don’t know if those who created and brought this game to life (with such emotion) will ever read this post... But know this: Your work was not in vain. The result is outstanding. Be proud of Veilguard and of yourselves. Thank you. ____ [EA_Garrus] Moved from DA IT to DA EN Boards.
