The Pulse Rifle has been widely reported to be quite poor in the Dead Space remake and it turns out it's due to a bug related to how its damage is applied. According to this Reddit Post which quotes this Korean forum post, the Pulse Rifle's issue is that enemies apparently have a 0.2s invulnerability window upon getting hit. This results in the Pulse Rifle wasting huge amounts of ammo and DPS when fired full auto, particularly with the rate of fire upgrade. There are even comparison videos comparing automatic fire and an autoclicker which tap fires at 0.2s intervals. With the autoclicker the DPS is noticeably better. I can also verify from personal experience that removing the rate of fire upgrade made the weapon much better for me. I'm aware the game hasn't been updated in a while but it would be nice if the rate of fire was adjusted to at least max out at one shot every 0.2s and the damage numbers tweaked accordingly, assuming the core bug is too difficult to fix (even though it also effects the Plasma Cutter apparently although much harder to achieve due to the nature of the weapon). It's also important to note this bug in case of any future installments based on the same engine as high rate of fire weapons are also present in the sequels (especially Dead Space 3), or maybe even other Frostbite Engine titles. Hope this post proves useful to someone.abuyolo14 days agoRising Newcomer35Views0likes0CommentsThe Possibility of a Dead Space 2 Remake
I'd like to share my opinion on EA’s handling of the Dead Space franchise. We already know what happened with Visceral Games, and also much of what the company expected from the title itself. I’d say the president at the time was somewhat misguided when it came to survival horror games. This obsession with sales numbers has never really sat well with me, even for the most well-known titles like Resident Evil 4, whose sales figures aren't that impressive when compared to a multiplayer war FPS like Battlefield or Call of Duty. If there’s one thing the Dead Space franchise has, it’s critical acclaim. I think that alone was enough to solidify it as a cult classic in the genre. It made its impact, made noise, and still teaches lessons in several aspects of the genre, with a unique identity. But beyond that, we need to understand that certain strategies just shouldn’t be expected from a game like this—especially when a company tries to aim for something almost impossible within the genre, except in very specific cases. That said, a Dead Space 2 remake would be more than welcome. Not just because of the reimagining with modern visuals, but because of the potential it carries—particularly in terms of atmosphere, narrative construction, and world-building. Yes, a Dead Space 2 remake could be the foundation for a fully explorable version of the Sprawl, which was already a massive setting, even though it was linear in the original. What makes me think about this is the sheer size of the Sprawl and how many side missions could be created to deepen the lore of the outbreak and its characters—just as the Ishimura was given more freedom with its interconnected design. That same logic makes me believe the scale could be far greater, adding new bosses and enemy types, as well as expanding on hallucination sequences and improving existing boss fights like the Stalker. Just imagine that interconnected world like the Ishimura, now expanded into a semi-open world that gradually unlocks, giving you the choice to revisit areas as access codes are found. That alone would elevate the atmosphere to an unprecedented scale. So a Dead Space 2 remake project could very well become one of the most ambitious survival horror remakes in history. And of course, with that level of change, creation, and design, it would take quite a long time to develop. I can’t imagine EA greenlighting it and expecting a quick release. It would likely be something aimed for the next generation of consoles, precisely due to its potential. Let’s not forget that Visceral created the original sequel in just three years after the first game. The difference today is that to make a truly great game, development would have to be on a much bigger scale. I also think that, if possible, EA should think about a very smart and strategic marketing plan, especially in times when the game could benefit from a proper hype cycle. It’s easy to see that the marketing strategy for the 2023 Dead Space remake wasn’t the most favorable—mainly due to competing titles. Still, it was a critically acclaimed remake. I’d also love to see them invest in natural lighting techniques, avoiding overreliance on ray tracing, while giving proper focus to optimization. But anyway, this is just a fan’s wish!85Views0likes0CommentsDead Space 2023 difficulty related achievements
Hello. I know the game has some achievements if you complete it from Medium difficulty and above. Problem is: I switched to Easy to let my gf play for a while. Can I just switch to Medium again and have the achievement when I'll complete the game, or you have to play whole run at same difficulty setting?SiegfriedM21 days agoNew Traveler45Views0likes3CommentsDead Space Remake
Dead Space Remake feels way more atmospheric than the original. I had serious doubts at first since I jumped straight from the original trilogy to this remake. And honestly, the original was already atmospheric by nature — but the remake takes that to the nth degree. And that’s a good thing. I never really got a proper scare in the original — at most, some overwhelming tension. Here in the remake, that tension is still very present but now wrapped in a much more punishing and terrifying atmosphere. You genuinely feel uncomfortable walking around without ammo — and even with ammo, you still feel vulnerable. I’m still on Chapter 6, and I noticed right from the beginning that they’ve modified and reused some mechanics from the second game — which is absolutely brilliant, because the side missions now add way more depth and mystery to the lore. I’ve seen some people claiming it’s “just a graphics update” or “just a copy of the original,” and let me tell you — that’s a complete lie. It’s not just about visuals. The ship feels way more spacious, the environments are heavily reworked, and everything is much more interconnected with drastic changes in certain locations and missions. Just think about the morgue scene where you need to retrieve the Captain’s RIG — the whole section before you encounter that woman mutilating a corpse and then slitting her own throat — it’s completely redesigned. There are definitely things I prefer from the original, but I’m not so much of a nostalgic purist to deny that this remake has clearly surpassed it. If the goal was to expand the experience in a way that feels fresh and brutally immersive, this remake absolutely nails it as one of the best of this generation. I’m not even talking about what made the original unique — this is about how the remake managed to be even more punishing, more threatening, and way beyond what I expected as a fan. The difficulty is also cranked up quite a bit. The Leviathan in the original was hard until you figured out the trick — and sure, some parts of the original are still notoriously tough, like the asteroid section (every FPS fan struggles there). But the Leviathan in the remake is way more punishing. There’s a phase where it attacks while launching organic bombs, and then the entire area gets flooded with poison. It’s both challenging and frustrating. If they managed to tone down the asteroid part, they absolutely cranked up the Leviathan fight. Overall, this game is insane. Once I finish it, I’ll come back with a much deeper and more detailed analysis.k8rihpbthgfd2 months agoRising Novice49Views1like1Comment- 33Views2likes0Comments
Dead Space 3 COOP not working on pc
Hello there, after 2 days of searching and trying we are still unable to run coop in DS3. NAT Type is always strict, We also tried hamachi and some other VPN on R... That didn't work. We both uses EA app for running the game. We have enabled sharing in network, also allowed port 3659 which is used by game. Once we were able to connect as i saw my friend's saved games but we were on poor wifi. Also we've tried to connect when we were on same wifi but still with no results and turn off firewall on both ends. Went through these guides: Steam Community :: Guide :: How to fix "Failed to join game" error How To Fix Strict NAT Type On PC! I want to start off by saying I love Dead Space and other EA IPs, But as it seems EA makes every wrong choice possible. They favor short term benefits over long term growth and public interest. They seem content to run themselves into the ground with repeated flops instead of trying to foster the audience they already have. It really confusing because we have seen multiple games hit it out of the park that had little to no public interest before release because of word of mouth. Even with remakes like Resident Evil, little to no one talked about RE Remake but still sold 4.6 million copies then RE2 Remake caught every ones eyes because capcom continued to iterate and gained back wide public interest and selling 14 million copies. I believe if EA had let motive make Dead Space 2 Remake like they originally had wanted it likely would have been out by now and swept the competition considering there is little to none in the Sci-Fi Survival Horror Genre right now. Instead they opted to have motive work on an Iron Man game, Now I have nothing against Iron Man I loved him as a kid and I'm sure there are Marvel/Iron Man fans that will buy the game but I'm pretty confident in the fact it wont sell well. Especially considering that at Iron Mans height during the release of the Iron Man movies there was a Iron Man game on the 360 that was pretty good but it only sold 2.6 million copies so they might be able to expect to sell around that much with this new release when Iron Man is less in the public eye but that wouldn't be enough for them by their own barometer. Even if we consider the fact that there are more Marvel fans now than ever Iron Man isn't a huge favorite for most but lets go along with this and say it sells twice as much that would be around 5.2 million copies, But is that enough for EA? If it is why didn't they continue with Dead Space? The original Dead Space sold around 1 million copies then Dead Space 2 Sold 4 million copies seeding steady growth by word of mouth. But EA stuck their fingers in the pie and messed with Dead Space 3 alienating Its core audience of around 4 million which would have been set to grow had they not tried to get a new different audience making Dead Space 3 sell around 600 thousand copies killing the franchise. Then when the Dead Space Remake was released it revived the franchise selling 2 million copies so if we use the original releases as an outline a Dead Space 2 remake would have sold around 6 million copies maybe even more if we used RE remakes as an outline it would be around 12 million copies. Anyone can look these things up, EA and its employees can as well as they should have their own metrics. So why abandon Dead Space again? I know the most likely reason is the same one that is plaguing the gaming industry as a whole right now, bloated costs and poor decision making from out of touch executives who know little to nothing about their IP. Its very frustrating for me and many others who just want there favorite IPs to continue as they were. Even more so when seeing things like Elden Ring, From Software has continued to make the games fans love (me included) and continue to grow. I just wish EA could get their act together and make the games their fan love. But that's just a pipe dream at this point. What do you think? do you think I'm wrong? Are you frustrated with EA too? let me know! Id like this to be a friendly discussion so lets be courteous to one another please!DeathAdrift3 months agoSeasoned Newcomer73Views1like0Commentsgame will not open even after multiple remedies

I've been playing the Dead Space remake on PS5, and have reached a point in Chapter 8 where I seemingly cannot progress. There is an elevator that says "authorized personnel only" that simply will not open to allow me to take it. Every walkthrough I've read says the elevator should open (with a monster inside), with no special tricks needed to make it open. I have no save points further back to allow me to get back to that point and don't want to start over hoping it doesn't happen again when I reach this point. Is there something I'm missing?comedyguy13133 months agoNewcomer34Views0likes0Comments- ev8o03dhgihs4 months agoNewcomer54Views0likes1Comment
