HUT rewards are awful
There is no incentive to play rivals or squad battles. The rewards are so pointless. A bronze pack? A 76 overall card? A 78 overall card. And the best part in 55 days you get a 87 Eichel. An xfactor Nylander that I can obtain now is a better card. All you had to do is simply copy FC25 format of seasons where they still hand out division rivals rewards every week and squad battles. I basically don't have to log in till hut champs time now. Add weekly rivals and squad battle rewards back or the interest in this mode will die very very quickly. Check Reddit forums it's plastered all over.

EA_AljoGotta eventually address the community. Let’s speak about the rewards. Open up dialogue about this and let’s talk. You want our feedback, you’ll get it. Rewards are going to destroy HUT. Stop avoiding this and let’s address this massive issue. Please let me know who I need to contact at EA to pass along this feedback as it’s clear you don’t want anything to do with it. To all, please post below to show your support around this. We can’t go down quiet otherwise the game we love is over for good. I know 0 of you are excited about the next 53 days of useless grind.
Panarin moments
At this point this is ridiculous. It is so hard. You only have to be lucky to complete them, especially the 3 top shelf goals. Why does this “pro difficulty is suddently so hard to play against? The forecheck, the hitting, every sliders seems to be maxed out. And on top of it, we play against 90 ovr players with 80’ ovr.. not to mention Goalie Andersen has 4 superstar abilities. It seems so obvious now that you made ut this way so people buy the packs to get him in the store. It’s a joke. I hope you make them easier and that people who already bought pucks are refounded or given that amount of pucks again.Moderators/ EA Devs / Community
To all, Please continue to share your issues with EA. The moderator of this forum (unnamed) encourages it. See below for his post just a few days ago talking about what he welcomes on this forum. “We want the EA NHL forums to be a welcome and friendly place for all. This doesn't mean we don't accept negative feedback. As long as it's constructive and not breaking the rules, that's fine. We want to hear what you're struggling with as much as we want to know what you're liking.” Please, do yourself a favor and go through any thread on here that discusses 1. Pack prices 2. Reward path 3. Broken economy etc etc etc. This particular moderator is only responding to what he wants to respond to. IE, he is not accepting negative feedback around certain subjects. They clearly do not want to hear what we are struggling with, otherwise they’d respond to one of the 50+ threads that talks about it! Shoot, at least give us some lip service of “I have passed this along to the team”. I’d stop posting about it instantly! At least at that point we understand that someone at EA has acknowledged us. I have doubts they’ll fix it regardless. I am beyond disappointed with how low EA is going with the rollout of this game and particularly HUT. Please take this moderators advice and share all of your negative feedback in a constructive way which doesn’t break the rules. They want to hear what we are struggling with, they just don’t address it. I am unsure of what else to even say at this point. They have an entire fanbase of their largest game mode asking questions & giving feedback which they are intentionally choosing to avoid. Go into this mod’s account & you will see he is very active in responding to stuff, just not anything involving certain topics. Sad. To the unnamed mod, I don’t blame you. I blame the company you work for. It’s a shame they put you in this position with no other air cover & or real support… but you are the community manager, and you’re INTENTIONALLY AVOIDING SUBJECTS. I’m sure those above you are telling you to stay silent, just frustrating. I hope someday someone at EA wakes up. But, my guesses are a $500 pack comes out before that happens. Please, EA. Do something. Address your loyal community. It’s so embarassing for you to stay silent through this.
Online Petition to EA Developers
Dear EA, After the new HUT format dropped this week, I think it's far to say that the majority of players are disappointed with the lack of quality rewards (and packs in general). While we understand you has chosen a slower progression this year, with card overalls lower than before, it still doesn't allow for the player base at large to realistically build for X-Factors and Hologram Icons via Wildcards and the XP path respectively. I think I can speak for many players in saying that the problem is not with the XP path, it's the quality of the rewards. We went from earning great weekly packs last year to this. We're not asking for the old system back, but we do miss the excitement of opening weekly packs that we play for that the XP path doesn't offer. As loyal customers, we simply want the fun back in the game, and if XP is it, at least give us all something to motivate us to play these modes. I am asking on behalf of a strong majority of the player base anyone who wishes to sign this online petition with their gamertag, for EA to hear our concerns. Thank you for your time. I’ll be the first to admit that the NHL player base is always critical. I’ve been apart of the community since 2013. I’ve been a top 50 player, I’ve streamed, I’ve been in EASHL tournaments, you name it. I’ve seen it all, I’ve played the game a ton of the last 12 years. EA/Mods, this post is not meant to be berating you and your team about how bad the game is, let’s start there… With that being said, it is clear that the fanbase of HUT is clearly upset with how different (and let’s be frank, horrible) rewards are this year. It’s complete night and day to those who have played this game in previous years. Please go on Reddit /NHLHUT and see for yourself. The community is frustrated. There is no one talking from EA. A $100 pack on day one? I mean, that’s just unheard of. It’s unlike the EA we know and come back to every year. HUT will be dead and gone in a few months time if you don’t address the community and make change. Trust me, I’ve seen the community say this every year, but this is the first year we’ve had a $100 pack day one. And a $100 pack that doesn’t even guarantee an 84. The game is in shambles and not a word from EA. I truly am trying to be constructive in this. Someone from your organization better make 1. A Statement & 2. A change. Otherwise, I promise there is no reason for anyone to play this game religiously like years past. I mean, truly a punch in the face to loyal HUT players. -Signed, all.
Top shelf goals challenge for Panarin collectibles is completely rigged.
They completely rigged empty net goals as well. There is absolutely no way to score top shelf on the empty net in this challenge. I have tried for 10 minutes with the opposing teams goalie pulled and not been able to get a single one yet. Slap shots break the stick every time. Wrist shots I have held to the side and aimed at the top of the net slide right along the ice into the bottom of the net. I am aimed high and every time it is the exact same thing.
Hockey Ultimate Team in NHL 25
Like many others, I was excited for the new year of HUT in NHL 25, and like many others while there were a number of things that were awesome, there were other things that left me wishing I had more reason to keep playing the game. While others in the community like NoSleeves has put it much more eloquently, my thoughts are: The Good Unified XP path to let you play where you want to and earn rewards is a huge win that makes HUT so much more enjoyable Instant rewards similar to HUT Rush from last year on that XP Path is also a huge win, no more waiting against RNG to see if you placed high enough in Rivals or SB to get your rewards, you get them as soon as you can, which is such a game changer Changes to wins mattering more then shots on goal / goals above your opponent for score in Rivals / SB is also great, love that a ton too Gameplay (while subjective) to me has been the best gameplay in an NHL game hands down. Skill based one timers are incredible, lowered overalls to force you to play responsible hockey is great The Bad The lack of content cards to chase in the XP Path or meaningful packs to chase in the XP path has limited the number of "just one more" games I'm willing to play since there is nothing on the line that I couldn't just get in EASHL or Be A Pro Lack of meaningful ways to get 75+ cards in the store has hyper inflated the Auction House and made completing any Team Builder or Icon sets near impossible Despite the good gameplay HUT for the first time feels dead to me, I'm seeing the user base shrink in the first week of the game which I have never seen before, and most people are pretty hopeless that it will get better. From the community so far, some suggestions I have seen that I think might fix these issues would be: For the XP Path, create 250 tiers with lower thresholds to increase through those tiers, so that the content that would have been awarded over 7 Weeks via Rivals / SB Weekly rewards: we had a similar change when opponent refreshes moved from daily to weekly for SB, i think it important to allow for the same quantity of rewards in this new format A 75+ Player Pack of 10 or more players in the store: there was one during early access similiar to the 500 Point one in NHL 24 but at five times the cost. We need someway to acquire 75 to 79 players in game, all packs are either 80+ or 70 to 75, which makes doing either team builders or icon sets impossible Really hoping that something changes and soon, if the current rewards trends continue, then this year's HUT may be dead before Christmas. As someone who regularly plays HUT until late in the summer, I hope that won't be the case this year.

You want us to buy more packs? You can't and won't do it by force. This behaviour is more than alarming. Myself and many others will be spending time enjoying the new gameplay in modes that don't offer any in game purchases... I hope the rest of the fanbase follows suit and even whales understand rewarding EA for this type of behaviour contributes to the greed. These whales have crippling addictions and EA preys off their compulsion. It's sick, it's sad, and it's wrong. 1 step forward and 3 steps back: Finally we see an effort given in the gameplay. It's not perfect but it's the best we've had in 4+ years. And it's all for nought because of what's been done to rewards. The worst part is, the XP path has so much potential. The system could work flawlessly if the reward system wasn't such a transparent money grubbing scam. One of the biggest grievances in the community for years has been the lack of options and diversity between teams. Now that fodder cards are unobtainable for the entire player base (both free to play AND pay to play) there's no way to even make the players we like. Goodbye theme teams! This makes a large portion of player base redundant as they're given no reason to play, and nothing to work towards...BND? The most disrespectful change of all. You couldn't be more oblivious to think we wouldn't see right thru this tactic. But you know what? I haven't even spent a single one of my 4600 pre order points. And they'll sure as hell sit there until / unless there's changes made. Do better EA. You came so close to that perfect game we've seen you striving to create for years. Make this game one to remember (for the right reasons). Angering your entire fanbase is not a wise choice. You may squeeze a few extra dollars out of the 1% whales for a week, but lose thousands over the next year. Longevity rakes in a whole lot more dough than a quick flash
get rid of 3 top shelf goals
its so stupid nobody likes it and yall only have it so 99% of the player base gets fusturated and spends money thats why you have that stupid pack. its a stupid objective thats almost impossible to do. a way to fix it that instead of going back to 0 after you finish every game, you keep the top shelf goals from previous. yall just like to make the game suck tho whatever you can to make moneyCalling my team the wrong name! The announcer is always calling my team the Tuscan road runners! I am the Detroit Red Wings. It's very annoying. It does it 99% of the time! Even in wild card and hut. Please fix asap EA. The hut rewards is bad enough this year. At least call my team by the correct team name.HUT is dead before it even started with the complete lack of rewards.
Why in the world did you think we would want next to nothing for rewards? What made you think the players want far far far far far less rewards than last year. Ok cool you added an XP path. Why would you do that and then completely remove all other rewards from the game? HUT rush from years previous that almost no one would play actually had better rewards than this garbage abysmal xp path system lmfao and rush was the worst form of rewards in years past. Without Rivals and Squad Battles WEEKLY rewards added back into the game what is even the point in playing? Don't go and think adding monthly rewards will make anyone happy. Giving everyone the same card at the end of the xp path and the same upgradeable cards in the XP path is just forcing everyone to use the same cards. The fun part of this game was collecting cards and building multiple rosters. That is completely gone now. Oh and to top it all off all of the packs in the store are completely absurd in their pricing. Why do you get absolutely nothing for $120? Spending $200 on packs last year purchased multiple top end packs. How do you think raising the prices nearly 5x from last year was going to result in any sales? I have no problem spending money on packs to get players but there is no point at all in spending any money on packs this year. Hundreds of dollars gets you nothing in return and not even enough fodder to build sets. It is so bad you may as well just remove all the sets from the game in its current state. Nobody will ever get enough cards to complete any of them. Oh and not to mention getting rid of all the trade in sets that got you packs. Trading in gold jerseys only to get another gold jersey doesn't make any sense at all. Sincerely. One enraged player who has played nearly every single year of HUT. I would understand if this would be free game that you are forcing your player base to do micro transactions (macro transactions in this case). I have spend 100 euros for the game itself and there is reward path that gives bronze players and other useless stuff. This is absolutely outrageous how you treat your customers. Even if you would like to spend more money pack odds are so terrible that there is no justification. I really hope more people wont fall in those scam packs.This game mode feels so empty and boring this year.
There are just no cards being given out. The market is completely dead and there are hardly any of the top players ever pulled that go up for sale. When they do the price increase on top players vs last year is completely out of whack. Building players like Mcdavid and Lemieux is nearly impossible because there is simply no way to get cards. Even spending money gets you almost nothing. $120 CAD for 20 cards and a single 83+. This doesn't make any sense at all in any way. The addition of BND cards is senseless and just angers everyone who plays this game. Get rid of this please. Sincerely every single person who plays this game mode. Building more than one team and filling out sets and having lots of cards is what made this game mode fun. Every year I would have a Canucks theme team that I loved using. Now there are just no extra resources to get to do this with. Not doable by grinding and not doable by spending thousands and thousands of dollars. Where are any rewards this year? Seriously. Where are they? Do you think this XP path gives any incentive to play? It doesn't. At all. Bonus Packs???? Nothing but bronze players and the odd silver and if you are extremely lucky one gold. All the packs along the way give you nothing. The coins are worthless because the inflation has drove the price of cards up 2-5x the price of last year. Give us weekly SB and Rivals rewards back. The XP path as it is gives out almost nothing as rewards. Just keep the XP path as a bonus to the normal weekly rewards we are used to that give us some incentive to actually play the game.
