Just to Prove to Myself, I Wasn't Dreaming
Something very strange just happened in my game. Very odd indeed. I was looking for Melodie when I came upon this oddity: And then things glitched out: Bab's Glory still a foal, morphed out for a bit and then came down the slide. HELP I think my game is haunted or something! P.S. No, I don't have any new mods.
Word of Advice . . .
If your Sim is up for a Starlight Accolade, and you forget that when your Sims' son needed a microphone for an announcement right after he placed his Tile on the Avenue of Stars . . . it's a good idea to remove that extra microphone before you leave the lot. My Sim was sitting in chairs awaiting the start of the show, yet he and his wife were the only ones in the third-floor studio, when the notice popped up that another Sim had won an award. 😮 Say, what? Nobody's here. All I could think of was, which new mod or piece of cc is interfering, now? I decided to exit without saving, the only rational thing to do, when on my way to the ground floor, I stopped to remove the microphone the other star was standing before receiving her award. That's when it hit me. It's a little like having more than one wedding arch on the same lot. IT MALFUNCTIONS. So, just keep in mind if you play Get Famous, not to leave another microphone on a different portion of the same lot. You can have two, so long as they're both on the stage. There, I have done my good deed for the day, Carry on . . .
Kit bundles
I was surprised when I saw this on EA app. The kits are never on sale, but now there's a kit bundle! I think I would like to see more bundles like this. Although kits going on sale would be even better, because I already own quite many of them and can't bundle the ones I own 🤔😅 What kit bundles would you like to see?
Danger Kid
Has anyone been able to trigger the Danger Kid formative challenge? I really want a particular child to do this but cannot think of many 'dangerous' things for him to do which may trigger it. I had him play out in the rain during a thunderstorm, play with a cooking fire pit and I had him try to talk to the monster under the bed... I thought one of those would have done it but, nope. I also just tried the 'start formative challenge' option but Danger Kid didn't appear. Any ideas?
Who is Roberto Crinkletop? And why isn't he available in manage households?
An npc named Roberto Crinkletop arrived at my sims small home gym. He glitched out leaving my business after I closed it for the day. He remained stuck in place continuously falling asleep and eventually after 3 sim days was smelling very rancid. So finally I left my lot and returned to Crinkletop having left my lot. But then I thought, hey wouldn't it be funny if I set up Crinkletop with Agnes Crumplebottom.. upon doing some research I found that its possible Roberto is Agnes's late husband. JUICY!!!!! My plan still remains the same. To reunite the two. But how can I do this? He is not in the manage household panel. And befriending him is proving to be more challenging than I had hoped. My sim has amazing compatibility with him. But the option to invite him over isn't avaliable. Why is this? My quest continues. And I will keep updating my findings for those interested in this quest. And for those who may be able to shed light on this topic any info is greatly appreciated 👏
The 5 days normal infant lifespan is hilariously bad
I would say that infants is probably the most complex out of all the lifespans and they decided that 5 days was a good amount of time to anything. Infants have LOT of milestone and stuff to unlock. Trying different foods requiring sitting up, which is a milestone that is unlocked after a lot of tummy time. Tummy time takes a lot of time since it's not a continuous activity, it's something that requires you having to spam, and if both parents work outside the home, then it's not happening.. Infants want to sleep every hour which also takes up time. With infants, on top of trying to unlock milestones the ability to try foods, they also have a practice standing and crawling, the latter in which is required to be able to read to them. The point is, that 5 days to do anything in that lifespan is just bad. I have a mod that sets my infant's lifespan to 15 days. 15 day is long, and I was able to unlock all the food preferences and a lot of milestones but not the crawling, which I'm still working on before she ages up in one day. It can still be a grind. I'm aware that people can turn aging off and that long lifespan is a thing, but normal lifespans with aging on, you'll be lucky enough to get the infant to clap before they are suddenly aging up into a toddler. If you're a completelist, this stage will drive you mad on normal lifespan with aging on.Twirl's Into an Adult and Suddenly He Looks Like . . .
On this glorious morning, I have to admit I'm quite peeved. My Global Superstar, Rock Star, just twirled into a full Adult, and I have to ask, at what age does this occur? Because he went from this: To this: He looks tired and a tad haggard to me. I'm very unhappy. EA, please insert sliders or something so that the player can control the aging, if you will. I'm seventy years old, and he almost looks older than me! Yikes. Thank you for your kind attention.
Thoughts on For Rent and Business & Hobbies and their Issues
So I never bought For Rent because I was warned about the myriad of issues, and I was on a break from the game when Business & Hobbies came out, and though it interested me—I heard it too had some issues too, and thought I just wait for a decent discount. But I was reading there is a bit of focus on save corruption with specific mentions of FR: We’re also tracking any potential links to specific expansion packs or objects, though corruption reports predate packs like The Sims 4 For Rent. Instances of corruption existed before the release of For Rent, and our investigations into individual packs remain a top priority. So if this gets resolved within this time they claim to be catching up on issues during this "break", is that the biggest issue with this pack, or is it still not safe to buy? And with B&H I was thinking of waiting till 50% off, which may or may not be around Black Friday/Cyber Monday or even end of the year sale, are the issues of that alright enough to deal with at discount, or should I wait longer and/or for specific fixes?Child Sims: Share Your Gameplay & Discoveries
Raising a child in the Sims 4 has become quite complex and challenging. Seasons and Get Famous brought us after school activities. Our child sims can join Scouting and Drama clubs. Reaching the highest rank in scouting awards your child the Scouting Aptitude reward trait which boosts skill gains by 25%. Parenthood introduced Character Values: Manners, Empathy, Responsibility, Emotional Control, and Conflict Resolution. Achieving high or low levels in these values will lead to a corresponding Reward Trait in the young adult stage. Growing Together featured Childhood Confidence. Developing high confidence in the childhood stage leads to high self-esteem when aging up to teen. Growing Together also introduced Milestones. While completing all Milestones isn't required it does allow you to keep track of all the key moments in your Sim's life. And in Adventure Awaits our child sims have the opportunity to experience Formative Moments, challenges that grant permanent reward traits. So let's share our child sim moments, ask questions about features, and see if we can make them the best they can be before aging up to teen.
Family Getaway Assign Roles?
If I want to send my family on a getaway or even just one couple do I have to assign each one a role? I might be missing something but when I try to setup a trip for them only one can be assigned the role of guest? Whoever said age comes with wisdom obviously had no idea what they were talking about. Sigh... I am sure it is something simple I am missing.
