I am play on PC/ windows/ I play from the origin app/ I had the game for a year but did not play for 6 months or so.
Please if you can help me explain it to me in layman's term. I am not a computer person and wont know acronyms and things to download and connect!
Thanks in advance
@Unknowngirl28 Please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post. This article explains how to run one:

Please also let me know whether you have OneDrive active on your computer. You should be able to see a OneDrive entry in the left panel of a File Explorer window. Click on that, and if it says you need to sign in to use it, you're not using it.
i have windows
Hello,
I have attached the file. I have one drive.
@churr_trin In order to have any idea how to help you, I need to see a dxdiag. You can run it and attach the results to a post in this thread.

@Unknowngirl28 Please disable OneDrive's automatic syncing of Documents with cloud storage:
Then see whether you can start a new save.
Hi,
I did this and it didn't work. It just keeps loading and loading. I attached a pictures. Is it correct?
@Unknowngirl28 In your screenshot, the option to "make all files available" is checked, meaning the (correct) selection you've made below it will be overruled. Please uncheck that box, then test again.
Unfortunately, it doesn't stay unchecked. I attached another screenshot to show you what it looks like when I uncheck before I press "ok." Once I press 'ok' the screen disappears, so when I go back to see if it's all unchecked, the personal vault file is checked and there is a squire blue colored mark on the "make files available' button ( it looks like the first image I sent you).
I attached the picture to show you that I unchecked everything, before I press the 'ok' button!
I tried another approach:
I included another picture (screenshot 244) to show you what pops up if I try to unclick the 'vault file' individually. What to do now? Pls help!
@Unknowngirl28 You can try using this approach:
If it doesn't work, please let me know where your Documents folder is stored by default. Open a File Explorer window, right-click on Documents, select Properties > Location, and you'll see the default location. You don't need to list your username; just let me know whether OneDrive is in the file path.
If this doesn't help, or you can't uncheck Documents for some reason, things may get a bit more complicated, so it's probably better to confirm that this is in fact the problem before spending more time on it. To that end, please create a new admin account on your computer. Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services. You'll be able to sign into Origin and shouldn't need to download anything, but your saves and other content won't be available. Let me know whether the game works in the new account, and we'll go from there.
Creating another local account worked! I had to delete the origin app from my normal account and download it again in the new account! I signed in as normal, It worked just fine! Thank you so much for your effort! I really appreciate the time you’ve put into helping me! AE should hire you!
Happy Simmin!
@Unknowngirl28 That's great to hear. If you want to troubleshoot the issue in your old admin account, please let me know, but otherwise, your game should be fine now.
Hi!
that’s so nice of you! I want to know actually what is wrong with this game still because it is not working again on the new account. I only played that day I told you that it work but now when I went back for it, it’s doing the same thing! It’s really frustrating.
@Unknowngirl28 What antivirus do you use? It's possible it's blocking the game's access to Documents, but only after you've run it once.
Please also check your Controlled Folder Access settings, and either add exceptions for Sims 4 and Origin, or disable the feature entirely.

Oh Lord! That sounds like another language that I don’t speak 😂 So here’s a list of what I did!
I accidentally signed on to one drive which is what I think messed up the new local account!I deleted it and made another one and so the game started from scratch!
I had to stop and save it but when I went back on it, it won’t load the saved game! Pretty much what happened before happed -it continues to load!
So I can play the game ok as long as it is a new game and I delete the saved ones 😏
Also my sims 3 is just black screen! 😞
I don’t know if o have anti virus!
@Unknowngirl28 You can check the Task Manager's background processes tab for any entries that look like they might belong to an antivirus. (Google a name if you don't recognize it; anything with the Windows logo is from Microsoft and not a problem.) I think Sims 3 might have the same issue as Sims 4, but the easiest way to tell is to fix the Sims 4 issues and test Sims 3 afterwards.
If you can only load Sims 4 with no saves present even in a new admin account, with OneDrive not part of the picture at all, then I'd still think the problem was either an antivirus or Controlled Folder Access. The guide for CFA is pretty straightforward and written with non-tech-savvy people in mind.
Do you think, if I delete everything-sims and start over, that would make a difference? I’ll still check the anti virus but just want to know!
@Unknowngirl28 I think at best, you'd get one good launch of Sims 4 before you ended up in the same place. If something is blocking the game now, it's going to want to block the game again after a reinstall.
