1-Year Wrongful Apex Ban - EAC HWID False Positive (EA ID: huaiwumu)

Hello EA ToS Team, Respawn Support, and Community Managers (@EA_David, EA_Mari),

Nearly 1 year has passed since my permanent ban on March 7, 2025, and I've exhausted all 3+ appeals with only automated "case resolved" responses. Penalty History briefly showed revocation months ago, but the in-game EAC ban persists and later reappeared—now it shows "No history" (latest screenshot attached). Hoping for escalation to manual review here.

Account Details:

  • EA ID: huaiwumu
  • In-game name: 近视且散光
  • Steam ID: huaiwumu3
  • Linked email: [Removed - SU: Emails cannot be shared on the forums]
  • Platform: Steam

My Legit Play: Over 1,444 hours of fair gameplay, purchased every Battle Pass + numerous cosmetics/skins. Clean history, no cheats, hacks, or violations.

Incident (EAC False Positive): Sudden power outage interrupted my session at an internet cafe. Original PC failed to boot after power restoration. Switched to another PC on the same network, logged in via Steam, and was immediately permanently banned upon entering the game. This is a classic HWID-triggered false positive (very common in 2025-2026 reports).

Strong Evidence (screenshots attached; full versions available via DM):

  1. Steam login records: Prove exact device switch on March 7, all from the same IP/network/location.
  2. EA account login logs (downloaded via Data Subject Access Request): Confirm HWID/IP change occurred on the same network.
  3. Current Penalty History screenshot: Shows "No history of violations or appeals" – confirming the EA account is clean.
  4. 2FA proof: Enabled on EA, Steam (mobile authenticator on iPhone), and QQ email.
  5. Steam recharge records: Multiple Apex Coins purchases over years + 1,433 hours played, proving long-term legitimate investment.

This case aligns with many recent false positive reversals (e.g., hardware changes, polling rate apps). EAC policy allows appeals for mistaken detections.

Please manually review the March 7, 2025 logs (logins/HWID/pre-ban matches) and lift this ban. I love Apex Legends and simply want to return as a positive, long-time player.

Full evidence available via DM or email. Thank you for your help!

    Hey huaiwumu,

If you've gone through the appeal process already, our Terms of Service team has indeed investigated this situation. When you create an appeal, the ToS team is the one with the tools and records to review a situation and whether a penalty may have been incorrectly applied.

To clarify - the responses you've received are not automated, though they may use templates in some cases to make sure they're providing consistent information to those in similar situations. Those would be sent by the actual Terms of Service member once they've performed the review. If you've had multiple appeals, those have been investigated by different members of the ToS team as well, to make sure a fresh set of eyes takes a look at any additional appeals beyond the first.

There is not an additional or alternate channel to have this escalated or reviewed further, as the team reviewing this would be the same ToS team you're able to reach via an appeal. If they have completed multiple reviews and declined to remove a penalty, I'm afraid that will be final and cannot be changed here or through other channels, sorry.

  •  ToS has logs access (per HERO). Same IP normal activity confirms false positive PC switch. Hoping for review/escalation.

    EA_David EA_Mari Thanks!

Midnight9746 Thank you for the update! I understand CMs can't directly handle bans, but hoping one can still escalate to ToS (who has the logs per previous reply).

Attached EA DSAR: same IP normal sessions on March 7 – no cheat flags, clear false positive.

EA_David EA_Mari Appreciate any possible escalation!

    Thanks!

    EA_David EA_Mari – Please escalate to ToS? 1,444h legit + purchases.

huaiwumu They cannot escalate ban related issues as you would need to contact the EA TOS Team yourself.

Midnight9746 Thank you for the info! Good to know ToS has the logs – my EA Data Request shows same IP normal sessions on March 7 (attached/redacted), confirming false positive PC switch, not prior compromise.

    EA_David EA_Mari – Please escalate to ToS? 1,444h legit + purchases.

    Appreciate it!

Bump – still hoping for ToS manual review of the attached EA logs (same IP normal sessions).

huaiwumu Unfortunately when a player gets banned, that player would need to contact the EA TOS Team themselves.

Evidence confirms false positive. Thank you!

Also, (as far as I'm aware of), when the EA TOS Team reviews your appeal, they should have a copy of the logs as well.

  • Bump – still hoping for ToS manual review of the attached EA logs (same IP normal sessions). Evidence confirms false positive. Thank you!

Midnight9746 Thank you again for the advice and quick response! I appreciate the security reminder – I've removed any personal info and all evidence is attached (redacted for privacy).

To clarify the cafe risk: EA anti-cheat logs show all sessions on March 7 used the **same IP** with normal activity (no cheat flags), matching a legitimate PC switch after power outage – not prior user compromise.

EA_David EA_Mari Could a community manager please review and escalate to ToS? Full unredacted logs available via DM.

    Thanks for any assistance!

huaiwumu Sorry, but this cannot be handled on the forums as the only way to appeal the ban is by contacting the EA TOS Team.

    1. If you cannot appeal your ban any further, then that does mean that the ban will be upheld.
    2. The only ones who can handle ban appeals would be the EA TOS Team, (which means that there isn't anyone on the forums who can assist you with the ban).

When you use an Internet Cafe's service, you run the risk of a ban, (or even a hack), as you don't know who used the computers before you, who's on the network, etc.
