100% CPU Usage i7-9700K

Hello everyone,

Second post here first one I was trying to figure out why I was getting so much micro stutter on my system. Specs include EVGA RTX 2080, and an i7-9700K not overclock and water cooled. Anytime I'm playing Apex on any settings for graphics once I load into the map my CPU shoots up to 100%. Sometimes it'll get as low as 95%, but even then it'll swiftly go back up to 100% and i'll continue to get micro stutter. I've tried every possible fix to include reinstalling windows, limiting cores, lowering refresh rate, and have not had any luck. The game doesn't crash like it used to, but it's not fun to play with it stuttering as much as it does. Is there any possible fixes to this? This only happens on this game, every other game I can run at max settings and it's buttery smooth and my CPU usage does not shoot all the way up.

    Hey @Prisonsnack 

    Have you changed your Apex Legends CPU Priority by any chance?
    The Priority should be on normal / below normal.

    Can you tell me what launch commands you are using?

    I've tried changing my CPU priority with no luck. Currently I'm running no commands as nothing of tried has worked.

    I have a 165hz gsync monitor, so ideally as many as possible. Yes, I've ued Riva to limit them as low at 100 fps and still no luck. I usually average between 90-165 depending on what I graphics settings I'm running. Hitting the FPS isn't the problem. It's the constant micro stutter from this game over working the processor. I saw respawn was aware of the issue regarding these processors and supposedly implemented a fix. However, I have not seen that fix.

    I'm so glad I'm not the only person having this issue, I too have a 9700k with an RTX 2070 Super. As soon as I enter the dropship during the countdown my CPU maxes out at 100% until I land and then throughout the game, it will spike up to 100 again causing me to get rubber-banded, have cursor stuttering, and constant no regs. I've tried literally everything and there seems to be no solution, it's so soul-destroying when you spend £1.7k on a pc and it can't even run your favourite game properly. Please let me know if you do ever find a solution to this problem, hopefully, it will be fixed in future apex updates with optimisation patches, but you never know these days

    9700k w/2080 super here and same thing. CPU spikes to 100 all the time causing micro stutters.

    Same for me. In the lobby I use around 50% of my CPU and in the game (especially in the drop ship) my CPU is maxing out to 100% causing my whole PC to struggle. My GPU is working less now, probably because my CPU is taking the load. My game crashes sometimes because of the intense load on my CPU and then my CPU keeps working on it even where my GPU goes back to idle (1-5%). My game also went from around 60 fps in the drop ship to 100 (because the CPU is using 100%). I have this problem since the new update (fight night) 3-4 days ago. My specs are: i7-9700k, RTX 2070 Super with 16GB of 3600Mhz RAM

    @Skillercode I have the same build as you and having the same problem. It’s only with apex too.. I reinstall the game on steam it helped a little bit but still max out cpu and crashes my games at intense fights. I’ve been looking for a solution but have no luck :/
