any secondary Apex Legends accounts created after Oct 26th...

What exactly does this mean?

"any secondary Apex Legends accounts created after Oct 26th for the same EA account, will not be eligible to be merged"

I played on PC via Steam on Account A. Since I knew there was no cross progression, when I started playing on the Xbox I made an Account B.

Now that cross progression is available, I logged into Account A on Xbox on October 31 but it's level 1. Is that considered a "secondary account for the same EA account"?

I am not trying to link Account A to Account B. I simply want to use my PC progression of Account A on Xbox now.

Is this a case of staggered rollout and I just need to wait? Or is it designed so that if you've never logged into your account from another platform before you're SOL with cross progression?

If it's the latter, it's kind of weird that only people who've played on different platforms before October 26 is allowed to have cross platform, and everyone who tries after this update is ineligible. Not sure what type of heinous exploit is being prevented but this seems flawed, or am I missing something?

  • i have the same question. my EA account was originally created back in 2019 for xbox and lets just say after the first initial sign up before you are allowed to play apex ive never seen that EA account again. just start the xbox and jump in.

i think this is a common issue for people who play on xbox or ps being that you just put the game on and that's it.

where as on PC you have to log into a EA account or on steam you have to link you Steam so it might have never dawned on some people to get the connections right before October 26th im just an averaged skill level player who has spent absurd amounts of money on xbox two heirlooms and tons of skins form seasons past.

I two have jumped into apex on PC for the first time on my main EA account on October 29th and started me as LVL 1 on PC and im not sure if this will reg as a secondary apex account but based off what im reading it is. ive been trying to get in touch with costumer service to help so if there are any EA reps on the form please help

im hopeful if this does become an issue for some ppl that Apex and EA will help trouble shoot and verify for those who desperately want to re obtain their digital properties

  • PC account (main Account A) made over a year ago. Only played on PC ever. When I got xbox I started a new account since I knew there was no cross progression (account B). I want Account A on Xbox but this note makes me think I may be out of luck.

I'm just wondering if logging into Account A on Xbox after the 26th = "secondary" Apex Legends account. I can't imagine it's talking about people trying to merge two separate EA accounts?

    Thanks for replying to this!

  • same issue, im lvl1 and no items or skins or anything , just i got for some reason like 3k gold and some of the legends are already unlocked.

  • so i have one EA account that my xbox was on all its life and then for the first time signed in on PC oct 29th same EA account.

@ButtertasticI thinks this means that any second account was made after 26th will not be eligible to be "merged",
They said "merged", they didn't say "any second account was made after 26th will not be eligible to cross their progression from platform to other"

I will try to simplify it, for exemple, as you said, you have made an Apex account "A" 1 year ago or let's say when there was no cross progression, that account was used to play on PC.
Then you have made an account "B" on Xbox after 26th (with the same EA email that used on PC),
In this case any progression that you made with account "B" (because that account was made after October 26th) won't be merged with account "A",

However, your progression that made with account "A" will still be able to carryover to your Xbox account (account "B").

  • Okay - so then it's just a matter of waiting for the account to be part of the staggered implementations of cross progression/data migration basically. Thanks @scof23 , that actually makes sense since new accounts would be able to farm apex packs after the announcement thus exploiting the data merge.

Does anyone know if they've given any hints as to a schedule for the "doing this in waves"? Just out of curiosity really since it'll realistically happen when it happens. More in case the process is complete and my account is still lvl 1 haha.
