Apex Legends won´t launch

Hello,

I have seen that some people facing the same problem.

When I start Apex through Origin, easy Anti-Cheat starting screen pops up and then nothing happens. No error or something.

The game just won´t launch but after some seconds origin pops up again.

I just set up a complete new system with windows 11.

What I have done so far:

- Updating und downgrading GPU drivers

- Updating Windows, Bios and all other drivers

- Run Apex, Anti-Cheat and Origin as administrator

- disabled Anti Virus programms and Windows Firewall/Defender

- did a clean boot

All other Games are running fine. Just Apex won´t start.

I´am running out if ideas and need some help.

Attached my DxDiag

Thanks

The Problem is solved! A very nice member of the EA DE forum found the solution.

Directx and/or vc_redist wasn´t or wasn´t correctly installed. After reinstalling the newest version of vc_redist (https://docs.microsoft.com/de-DE/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170) and directx in the game folder (Apex\__Installer\directx\redist) the game startet and everything was fine. Normaly these programms should be installed when the game is getting installed but I don´t know why this didn´t took place.

Anyhow, I am Happy the Problem is solved.

Thanks to u guys for the support and have a nice day!

    Best regards

  • @HappyScharlach Hello, Do you have reticles in your launch options?
    if you do, remove this.
-Right Click on Apex in the Library
    -Select Properties
-In the Launch options tab, remove parameters related to reticle color from the Launch Options section (example: +reticle "255 255 255")
  • I am starting the game with Origin and their are no launch options set. The field is clear.

  • Hey @HappyScharlach,

Could you try repairing your game first?

(Right click Apex Legends > Select "Repair Game"

If that doesn't work, use the fix mentioned below:

Some users have reported that removing the files inside of a directory fixes this issue with crashes.

    The directory in question is:

    C:\Users\"Your Username"\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex

Once you're there, delete all 3 folders:

    • assets
    • local
    • profile

(Deleting these folders will reset your settings)

Please let me know if this fixes your issue!

  • Hey @XHelperZ,

thanks for ur help, I did both steps but it didnt work. I feel like easy anti cheat is not starting properly and apex is waiting for it to launch.

Is their any way to start apex without easy anti cheat to test that?

When I start apex, anti cheat is starting First. Then the anti cheat window closes and nothing happens. But origin still thinks the game is running so I have to wait like 2 min before I can try to start apex again (see Attached pic).

    Best regards,

    Happy

Typically when there's an error related to EAC it will show a message.

The game isn't able to boot without EAC as far I'm aware, as the game requires the anticheat to be running.

Though it could help to repair the EAC files, you can do so by going into the Apex Legends folder and proceeding to the EasyAntiCheat folder.

From there, run the "EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe" > Select Apex Legends > Select repair.

Could you also try checking your launch options again?

It's possible that the game created the launch option on it's own, so you would be unaware of any launch options being there.

If there is something related to "+reticle_color" then make sure to remove it.

Removing any autoexec's in the /cfg/ folder could also help.

  • @XHelperZ, I did the repair already several times.

Is their another way to check my launch options other then in Origin? Because in game properties is no command written (see pic).

Attached u can find a pic of my cfg folder. I couldn´t find any autoexec´s.

    Thanks

Well this is the first time it's presenting like this, a whole different thing could be causing it.

Could you attatch a DxDiag to your post?

This might give us more information to see what could be causing it.

  • DxDiag enclosed.

I just have a new computer (since yesterday) and Apex never run on it but Overwatch for example runs perfect.

So Windows is fresh installed (Win11) and everything else should be up to date.

I feel like any of the Mainboard oder CPU drivers causes this problem but they are all up to date.

    Best regards,

    Happy
