Banned for unknown reason

I returned to play Apex with a friend. We played two trio battle royales and unfortunately lost. Afterward, we tried a 6v6 mode, similar to TDM. However, I was shocked to receive an email today saying my account was banned. I play numerous FPS games and never cheat. What's the fun in playing if you're just going to cheat? You can review my last 5 games - it's unlikely that someone who's cheating would perform so poorly. Has anyone else been banned unexpectedly? I've invested countless hours since the game's release; I'd never jeopardize my account. Isn't this bad for the game is you just ban your players for not doing anything wrongful?

The EA staff who work here on AHQ cannot help you directly with account-related issues, such as bans, only the TOS team can help you.

If you feel you have been incorrectly banned, the only thing you can do is to dispute any action taken against your EA account by following the steps in this article:

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I tried disputing the ban, but they declined the dispute. They haven't even provided a reason as to why I was banned.

I had this happen to me tonight as well. I returned to Apex after a couple of months and played around 2hrs. Then I tried to play tonight and was rewarded with in-game notification that I was banned after trying to play with 2 other friends again.
I feel the same way about cheating in games and just have never wanted to try in the first place. Been playing since the early 2000s and never have been banned on any console or PC Platform..
It's interesting how you say you were banned after returning to the game after an undisclosed time as well. Wonder if this is something of a pattern with Apex Legends.
The only thing you can do is dispute it and keep trying to dispute after however long it takes for the support to respond.

Appealing is of no use bro...my gaming account is also banned. EA sent me an email saying I violated protocol 6. Before being banned, I encountered a pop-up in the game multiple times stating that the cheat system was not working. After this reminder, I was banned the next day. I appealed three times to no avail.
