Banned without having the game installed.

I had a hard time whether to post this topic under the bugs or technical issues and I hope I made the right decision.

A week ago I received an email saying that I got banned from Apex Legends' online features because I broke EA's gameplays rules. Doubting the legitimacy of this email, I decided to download the game and see whether the email is right or not and it turns out I actually got banned from the game WITHOUT HAVING THE GAME INSTALLED.

My account was last used my account  1-2 months ago before I formated my computer and after I did, I have not installed the game at all.

The first thing that came to my mind is that my account could have got hacked and someone might have played with it. I made sure if all my 2FA are enabled in all my platforms and checked whether I left my account open on any other computer other than mine. All the checks I've made were right and it was credible to eliminate the possibility of my account being hacked. Regardless, it would be impossible for me to be 100% sure unless I see my match history.

I have opened 3 cases to appeal for my ban and all I am receiving is automated responses saying that I got banned for "Violating EA terms of service" without giving me a specific reason. In the first case I opened, I hoped for the ban to be a mistake and asked for it to be removed if it was a mistake.  I received a response saying that they performed investigations on my account and confirmed that my account is involved in cheating with no specific reason on why I got banned. I opened two more cases asking for the ban to be kept in return for knowing the reason why and realized that EA does not even read my cases and respond the same way they did the first time. Moreover, My ban does not show on the "My Ban History" page, leaving me even more clueless.

    Hey @DarkCrimsonite,

The ban history section on the website will show specific types of account actions, but not all in-game penalties will appear there, sorry for the confusion.

Regarding the appeals themselves however, these are each performed by a different member of the Terms of Service team, and are not automated replies. Our ToS team has final say when it comes to any account actions.

If you've appealed with these steps multiple times and have had the appeals declined in each case, I'm afraid that's not something we can review further or change via the forums.

  • Is there any other way to find out the direct cause of the ban other than the ban history? As I said in 2 of my appeals, I am happy to keep the ban. All I want is the reason why. I don't know why this is difficult. At least I should be entitled to an explanation since the ban history doesn't work and all 2 my appeals are not read properly.

I'm afraid not, aside from what's provided in the emails, sorry.

If those mentioned cheating, for example, we wouldn't be able to provide any specific program names or reveal any other info regarding the detection methods.
