@THale8 That's bad! It's not just a crash to Dashboard. I've never experienced a completely shutdown on Xbox One S.
Try this:
- Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
- Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
- Plug the console power cable back in.
- Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.
Test more other games cause maybe it will shutdown in a few minutes or a few hours and if it happens again send console back to Microsoft.

i appreciate the reply, ill try a power supply reset again. I changed osme of my display settings on my xbox and was actually able to finish my first game in a couple weeks but then it started crashing again. really think i might just have to get a new console

Shutting down like that usually means the CPU/gpu chip is over heating. It will shut down to prevent damage. But usually when this happens you get a message on startup informing you of what's happened. Assuming you have re installed the game after a full wipe and it didn't help then I'd say it was the co sole. Maybe badly seated heatsink? Does it sound loud when it's running? Fast fan speed?
