From what you described, this sounds like your Steam account may no longer be connected to the same EA Account that originally held your Apex progress. In Apex, progress is tied to the EA Account, so if Steam ends up linked to a different EA Account, it can look like everything is gone even though the old progress may still be sitting on the original account.
A couple of things are worth checking:
- Make sure the Steam account is linked to the exact EA Account you used before
- Avoid unlinking and relinking further unless you’re sure it’s the right account, since account-link changes can make progress appear reset or inaccessible if the wrong EA Account is involved
