Experiencing Black Screen - tried all solutions

Hi,

I have been experiencing a black screen after loading Apex on pc and have attempted all work arounds and fixes I could find. Are there any other fixes I can try?

UPDATE: This is still not resolved. I believe the root cause of this may be my audio interface. I have a a Lynx Aurora 16 for music production with the latest ASIO driver. This is connected to my PC via a thunderbolt cable. When I remove this cable and the audio switches to my computer monitor's then Apex Legends loads fine or if I use another audio interface. Solutions I have tried to get working with my Lynx Aurora include

  1. Increasing the buffer size to 1024 samples
  2. decreasing the buffer size to 16
  3. attempting  sample rates of  44.1khz, 48khz at 16, 24 and 32 bit
  4. when using 96khz sample rate the game loads but audio is mangled

Observed behaviour:

  1.  Open game
  2.  Splash screen and audio plays
  3.  Moves to a black screen and hangs
  4.  Some part of the red animated apex logo is visible and static on bottom right hand side
  5.  Game hangs in this state

PC Setup:

  • Processor: Amd Ryzen 9 5950x
  • GFX: Nvidia RTX 2070 Super
  • Motherboard: Asus Pro Art B550 Creator
  • Memory: 32gb
  • Disk: NVMe

When this started:

Shortly after upgrading my pc from an intel i9-990k to an AMD Ryzen 9 5950x (along with motherboard)

Fixes tried:

  1. Updating driver
  2. Removing graphics card driver and reinstalling - fresh install
  3. Updating windows
  4. Updating all drivers
  5. Repairing install in origin
  6. Uninstalling from origin and reinstalling
  7. Uninistalling from origin and uninstalling origin
  8. Starting in windowed mode
  9. Tried swithinc to windowed mode (alt+enter) during game (does not work)
  10. Installing via steam
  11. Verifying file integrityy in steam
  12. Adding -dev to start up (it skips the animated + audio intro and goes straight to black screen)
  13. Repairing EasyCheat
  14. Deleted EasyCheat binary and dll and .so and waiting for repair from steam to replace
  15. Allowing exception through firewall for apex execuatable
  16. Allowing exception for virus scanner (windows native antivirus) for apex folder in steamapps
  17. Turn off both firewall and virus scanner
  18. Delted contents of %temp% folder
  19. Changed the buffer size of my audio interface to 1024 samples
  20. Ensured sample rate is at 44.1hz

Any suggestions on what I could do?

Hard to see anything there tbh. I’m no expert. Can you check to see if it might also be your audio interface if you have one?
