Linking accounts between steam and EA help

So I wanted to play Apex for the first time in a very long time and I’ve only ever played Apex on my PlayStation and I’ve recently upgraded to my PC. So when I tried into Apex, it signed me into the wrong account and so I thought I could just go into the EA account and just unlink my steam account and re-link it to the right account but I won’t let me it has me waiting a whole year before I can unlink it.
