Please unban me EA

I was flagged for a conduct violation, but all I did was play the game. There’s no description for why though. I’ve spent a lot of money on Apex. If you could please release a more descriptive code of conduct as well as maybe a probation step instead of an instant ban, it would really help players understand what they are being punished for. I’m quite certain I’m banned because I beat someone at the game and that isn’t fair to me. Please review my case for account Tr1z0 on Xbox. :/

  • This is what EA does.

They do nothing about cheaters or aim assist players. I have reported someone with obvious cheat and they did not ban him or anything.

But when you report someone who typed something inappropriate to the chat, he gets permanently banned.

    Guess words > fair play!

(Aim assist? Well that's allowed, no?)

Security is an internal process, we as users cannot see when they update something so it seems like they're never doing anything.

This perception just undermines their hard work, don't think it's that fair.

The anticheat will always be improved, though so will cheats.

Even if a cheater is banned, they'll find a way to get into the game again, so it never really will seem like they're going away.

(Plus, we don't really have a way to check if someone got banned, as using sites like ApexLegendsStatus can have delayed information due to the API limitations, etc)

Cheating is a whole different issue compared to someone insulting someone else in chat.

Detecing bad words/sentences is done by using a dictionary of banned words and also adding in an AI model that works together with this.

Though with cheating it can range from obfuscating addresses to changing how certain things work/interact with each other.

Working against chat abuse would in simple terms just be an easy data analysis job, whilst cheating is on a whole another caliber.

We do get a mail about our in-game reports.

I have reported so obvious cheaters in the game where their crosshairs were jumping head-to-head even through walls. No mail received about any action taken.

I have also reported people because inappropriate names and received a mail about their bans in a couple of days.

What I'm saying is EA is overreacting these unimportant things. Violating their terms of services by raging and using bad words twice in the game's chat results with a permanent account ban. I just wish they would be so trigger-happy when it comes to REAL cheaters, not just players who type "bad words" in chat.

You don't get a mail for every account action done to a user that has been reported as far I'm aware.

I personally already find it special that they sometimes send out these mails as typically this is not done for privacy related reasons to the actioned user in question.

Sure the AI detection in chat can sometimes be a tad aggressive, in some cases downright wrong.

Though it's not like they're putting more effort into moderating the chat, if at all, it's made much easier now.

Per rules, they'd like to give cheaters also some rough treatment, though again, detecting chat violations is much easier compared than cheaters.

Chat moderation is most definitely not being prioritized compared to the team that works on cheats, though do note that chat moderation is much easier compared to cheat detection.

I'd say it's an entirely different caliber, can't really compare them fairly.

  • @XHelperZ Easy solution to this, don't be toxic, don't swear or abuse others and be politely constructive. If you cannot say it to your parents and employers and the police, don't need to say it to a player you don't know. Not suggesting that you are doing this. AI is not the issue here, the player that risked the AI was.

    @21Tivoli

Ehh some players have been banned for talking about birds and shrek IIRC, AI isn't always working perfectly.

You're correct though, but the system is definitely not perfect in every case.
