Re: 100% CPU on startup for a few minutes

I have the same problem and nothing works. Each time i launch apex, during the easy anti cheat splash screen i get 100% cpu usage. It seems easy anti cheat triggers windows defender to run a full scan. I tried adding origin, apex, easy anti cheat, easy anti cheat on a diff drive to windows defender exceptions list but it still doesnt help. Hell, i even tried adding apex and origin processes to exception and still no luck.

If anyone still has the problem, i somehow managed to get it to wrok tho dunno which of those exceptions helped. All the exceptions i've added to windows defender:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games

C\Users\YourUserHere\AppData\Roaming\EasyAntiCheat <- im like 70% sure this one helped

D:\EasyAntiCheat <- diff drive and folder like suggested, dont think it helps

E:\games <- drive and folder where i installed apex

E:\games\Apex\EasyAntiCheat <- for good measures, dont think its needed

  • This didn't work for me. Still blasts CPU to 100% while triggering Windows Defender. Honestly I want to disable the damn thing as it's gotten a lot more intrusive, but I can't be bothered. Might if this * keeps up.

My problem returned too. I I've been running Kaspersky anti-virus instead and no problems at all.

  • Same issue, tried all the exclusions, didn't help, it seems to only do this with easy anti cheat games. Also if it helps it the task manager shows it's 100 percent cpu interrupts.

@Ludicrous_spd When looking at task manager scroll down to background processes and see which in that list is caushing to push to apex client to show 100%. Something in background is pull a lot cpu power and this list will show which. Right click that process then go to properties and then go to security. Check to see group user name has excluding defender and such. Let me know if it works! =P
