Re: Apex crashes laptop's Wifi driver
@_clxm69If you're on steam, try the following.
- Open Steam and click on "Steam"
- Click on "Settings"
- Navigate to the "In-game" tab
- Change "In-game server browser. Max pings / Minute" to something like "1500" (you can play around with this value)
- Close the settings by pressing "OK"
If you are still having issues you can try the following.
- Press CTRL+R to open Run
- Enter "Regedit" and press "OK"
- Navigate to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Valve/Steam
- Right click a blank area and make a new string value
- Name the new value "CafeRate"
- Double click on the CafeRate and set the value to something like "8000" (you can play around with this value as well. The lower the less chance that your WiFi craches. Don't go below "3000")
Over at the GeForce forum I saw a post where someone manage to solve a similar issue with a windows update.
Maybe you could check if there are any new updates available in Windows update?
And if you haven't updated to windows 11 yet, maybe you could try that?
I've also seam some users on reddit with similar issues. One user said that clearing his CMOS and updating BIOS seamed to work.
These procedures requires a bit more technical knowledge, and if done wrong they could actually damage your PC.
You could follow steps on how to do this on youtube.
