Re: Randomly Getting Zero Audio

Went from random to I can no longer hear anyone walking, running, or sliding, not even healing. Where is the audio? (and its not my headset, I've tried multiple different pairs including a TV speaker, they all had the exact same issue).

I think Rev might have silenced you for good. 😉

All kidding aside are you on PC or roller?

I might be able to provide a tip for PC.

    Just to be sure.

You have sound in game, right?

The random sound drop is not all sound is it?

The sound drop is only footsteps, healing etc during fights?

if your answer to ? 3 is yes then I would suggest installing and using Steel Series Sonar (SSS) for Audio (it is free). Use the Apex settings in SSS and go into the EQ on it and drop the Base to next to nothing. You will also have to change the Audio in Apex so that the output is through SSS.

@OldTreeCreeper provided me this tip a few seasons ago and enemy footstep audio was vastly improved and easier to hear along with the other items such as healing sounds etc especially during fights.

You might check some of OTC's posts as he did provide some more insight to the settings he has been using with SSS.

BTW if this works for you let me know.

Best of luck and maybe we will get Rev off your back.

@Asmodeus566 I've actually used that before in the past, although the software I use to record with, (AMD Radeon), isn't compatiable with the audio encoding of Steel Series Sonar. It just sets the audio to zero in the playback and using a third party video editor has sounds, but its at 5% of the volume, even when turned up higher.

After a few weeks of using Steel Series Sonar, Apex sounded like it just reverted back to the same problems I was having.

    Ok.

    Are you playing over steam?

I have heard of a bug where when playing over Steam that for some reason the volume automatically lowers.

I do not know more about that so I could not help there. Might be worth hitting the net for some possible solutions.

With my old PC I had a problem with sound and switched to a different jack and that worked.

Sorry I could not help you much.
