Request for Clarification – Account Compromise vs Activity Attribution

Hi,

I’m trying again in a more structured way, as I want to make sure my situation is clearly understood.

My account was confirmed as compromised, and EA assisted in recovering it. This means a third party had access and control during a specific period.

However, the activity from that same period is still being attributed to me.

I’m not disputing that the activity occurred — I’m asking how activity during a confirmed compromise is being evaluated and attributed to the account owner.

If possible, I would really appreciate a clarification on how the timeline of unauthorized access is being considered in relation to the flagged activity.

I’m simply asking for a proper review of this specific point.

    I’m concerned about the security of accounts. My own account was compromised, and during that time a hacker performed multiple actions that normally would be obvious to detect. Despite this, my account received a permanent ban.

    It’s frustrating that even after confirmed unauthorized access, it seems there is no clear way for the system to protect high-investment accounts or reverse mistakes quickly. The number of compromised accounts seems to be rising, and I hope EA considers stronger review processes for these situations.

    That really depends on the activity the team found when reviewing this case. We're unable to speak to or provide additional details on your specific case itself, but there are absolutely situations where another individual accessing an account would be doing so in order to provide unearned benefits to the account. 

    What the actual case was here I can't say as we don't have those details via the forums, but ultimately the activity on an account is the responsibility of the account owner and we'd highly recommend using 2FA and other security steps to help keep the account safe.
