VOIP output is coming through speakers

My in game voice chat comes through my speakers rather than my headset.

I use an inexpensive Cyber Acoustics mono USB headset.

I have set this to be my default communications device in Windows. I have also picked this device as the default from within the Origin app.

Is there a way to force the game to use a specific device for VOIP output?

  • Have a look in Windows Settings / System / Sound, and see what's set there.

    Also try re-plugging your headset in. Perhaps use another USB port.

  • Yes, I have already set my headset as the primary communication device in windows. I've also tried other USB points to no avail.

    Still the same issue.

    Even if I restart without any other VOIP program active and launch Apex as administrator.

    Makes it hard to play the game when I can't understand my teammates clearly.
