I've been having the same problem but I'm on the series s. And it all started around the time this update happened to "improve" the game for next generation consoles. It's really frustrating because I'm a very communicative player.

Also on series x and having the same issue. Game chat doing the same as you stated but even crazier. When I'm in party chat I can still hear people in game chat! Only started happening since recent update.

@EA_AljoAny updates? I didn’t have game chat all split and we are about to go into another season. Ranked is really tough without comms 

This has been an issue since split 2 of season 12 how hard is it to fix? Seriously.

We don't have an update on this currently. I know if it were an easy fix, it would have been handled in the last update. We'll have to give this one some more time still.

It's July now and there still hasn't been a fix for this problem. Why is this not top priority? Honestly ridiculous it's been months since I could talk in game chat
