To Electronic Arts / DICE Development Team
Complaint regarding lack of progression in custom Portal experiences in Battlefield 6.
We are writing to express our deep dissatisfaction with the current rules restricting XP progression in custom game experiences within Battlefield 6 Portal.
As a player, we invested in the game with the expectation of being able to create our own servers with standard rules to complete daily missions and earn XP progression.
This functionality was a key part of the marketing for Battlefield 6 Portal, and was a significant reason for our decision to purchase the game.
The current situation, where players are forced to play on "Verified Experiences" to earn full progression, feels like a punishment for those who wish to engage with the creative aspect of Portal.
Banning standard XP progression in custom servers is an inappropriate and ineffective solution to the problem of "XP farming" and harms players who want a customized, yet legitimate, gameplay experience.
Our main concerns include:
Misleading functionality: The removal of full progression in custom servers undermines the concept and original marketing of Battlefield 6's Portal as a zone of creative freedom.
Ineffective solution: The restriction punishes innocent players, while those who want to farm XP will continue to find other methods to bypass the limitations, as the history of Battlefield 2042 has already shown.
Limited player freedom: It is now impossible to set up a private server for friends with normal rules and still complete daily missions or unlock weapons.
We therefore request that you reconsider this decision. A better approach would be to implement more intelligent systems that curb bot-farming, rather than punishing all players.
Examples could include:
A balanced ratio of players to AI bots to maintain XP progression.
A "sanity check" that evaluates server rules to ensure they are not designed for exploitation.
We hope EA and DICE will listen to the community and restore the functionality that are advertised in the official game advertisements, and so many players have invested in.
Sincerely,
Madocx and Skallha.
