2FA (Two-factor authentication) Not Working?

When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 10.11.21
Summarize your bug 2FA (Two-factor authentication) Not Working. I can log out and sign in without it ever asking for my 2FA code I have set for my EA account.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Sign-in, Sign-out?
What happens when the bug occurs? No 2FA
What do you expect to see? A warning message that makes me get a 2FA message in my email to sign in.

    Yep, I also know it's on because Origin asks for my code every time, EA desktop does not.

    Hi @Exa2911,

    If you are still having issues with the TFA codes, then please get in touch with our support team as they should be able to help out. 

    I can also recommend keeping your Backup Codes somewhere safe. Whenever you don't receive the TFA codes, then you can use one of your backup codes to log in.

    You'll find your Backup Codes on your account settings under Security.

    i have the same problem, tried to contact ea via chat several times but they don't come up in chat. been waiting for 2 hours or so right now.

    If i want to view my backup code i litterally have to autenticate first so that's also no option. What should i do? im stuck

    You will have to contact our support team for this @DJNP_nl, what happens when you try to start a chat?

    If you're having issues, then please try a different browser or clearing the cache. 

  • This must be done using private browsing window. It is the ONLY way it works. There must be an issue with cookies or local storage data. EA really needs to investigate this. Go to Customer Portal (ea.com) in a private browsing tab and the code will send. Then you can change or add details in your Customer Portal (ea.com) to enable 2FA to avoid this happening in the future when logging in on the desktop client or non-private browsing scenarios.

  • I'm trying to set up 2-factor authentication for my EA Games account, and despite selecting iPhone as the device type (for the QR code), I get "invalid QR code" when scanning it on my device. Is there a fix for this?

  • @EA_Barry What a terrible reply. We wouldn't be asking through this difficult way if we didn't already go check this.
