Help me please I am going crazy
Subject: Unable to launch EA app on MacBook Air M3 (2024) — Error EC:10005
I’m having trouble launching the EA app on my MacBook Air (2024) with the new M3 chip running macOS version 15.5 (24F74). The app used to work fine for months but about a month ago it suddenly stopped launching properly.
Here’s what happens:
When I try to open the EA app, it bounces in the Dock and shows as running, but no window appears.
The error EC:10005 pops up saying to check my internet connection, but my internet works fine.
Running the app via Terminal or with sudo lets me log in, but still no window shows.
I’ve tried reinstalling the app, deleting cache and preferences, removing Sims 4 mods and the game itself, and even creating a fresh macOS user account, but the issue persists.
I’ve also tried running the app under Rosetta and checked my macOS firewall and network settings.
The Terminal logs show repeated network cache errors like QNetworkDiskCache::prepare() unable to open temporary file.
I’m worried about losing access to my Sims 4 purchases and saved data.
Could you please help me resolve this? I’d appreciate any fixes or guidance for compatibility with the M3 MacBook Air and macOS 15.5.
