It's busted because all the sweaty wannabe pro kiddies want basketball scores every game with people like Pina just spinning round and round in circles like a demented ballerina, they did patch it but they started crying so they reverted the patch back to this garbage, now all the casuals have just left and it's just the hardcore left , it's utter garbage and if I could get a refund I would 

I'm with you on the refund. I've been telling all my friends, who are thinking of picking it up on Black Friday, to buy something else. I keep spamming them with screen shots of the "EA servers are down" messages (almost daily). Each new update makes the game more unplayable. It constantly crashes during competitive gameplay and I get penalized. 0 accountability.

With defence it is tricky - But it should be.

Defensive AI i am happy not to be doing a lot. But if you play patient and not too erratic they will position themselves.

Part of the key is drag midfielders back as soon as you lose the ball. You can apply 2nd man press but little at a time otherwise positions will get vacated. The best players will exploit that.

Double tapping up and pushing them back towards there half can help. But you have to be careful as it is risk vs reward.

Yes. This year you can win the ball back by running and rubbing up against opponents.

Don't be afraid to you the hard tackle if desperate. 

Jockey and be careful. You have to be quick at switching around BUT only try and control CBs if confident. As weird as it sounds.

And last off. Just keep playing.

Oh, and also... how unstable is your connection? Who's your ISP and what is your latency usually?

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I've gotten better about using the CDM to press while leaving the CBs alone. I'll have to keep working on it.

Pre-match, it I'm getting 46ish MS Ping. But as soon as I accept, but before the black screen, it can go as high as 200ish MS Ping. During play it can go anywhere from normal connection, to 53ish MS Ping (still playable), to 86ish-200ish MS Ping (unplayable), all the way up to 2.5K MS Ping (frozen). I'm no where near as good as I used to be and have no problem losing to better players. What is most frustrating is when the game is a close contest, tied 2-2 or trailing 2-3, and it hits the 200+ MS Ping at the crucial moments.
