It's useless. TODAY I play 10 matches and I lose 8. I have a lot of players very high rated, I put PS+ an PS passing even in my defenders to not give the ball everytime to opponent. It didn't work. All the balls I recovered in my own half had only one outcome: putting the opposing team in an even more favorable position. In attack, passes felt completely random and I had no speed at all. My opponent, with a player who has 82 shooting, was finishing everything from every angle, while I was hitting the post three times per match. The players feel heavy, like the controller is actually broken. The internet connection was very good.
Then came the surprise: both the market and the store were very slow. I also got kicked out of Ultimate Team five times, as if the servers were being worked on. Maybe they were, but in situations like this, shouldn’t there be a message for players so they know their gameplay might be affected?
The best part is when you know exactly what your opponent is about to do and you have enough time to stop them, but the system just won’t let you prevent the attacker from scoring. The clearest example is when the attacker gets past, say, your left-back and then the nearby center-back. Normally, the other center-back should automatically move toward the attacker to try to block. But he doesn’t close in automatically, so you try to switch to him and bring him in manually. When you try to select him, it literally feels like he teleports two meters backward— instead of dropping back and closing down the attacker, he runs toward midfield, and by the time you finally select him, he can’t catch the attacker anymore.
This issue sometimes partially disappears with certain updates, but whenever the game “wants to sabotage you,” it always happens. I’ve been saying since FIFA 19 that it feels like defenders are being pulled by a magnet.
On a similar note: I take a corner, and somehow the player in the CAM position ends up back in my own defense. Of course, the opponent wins the ball and starts a counterattack. Normally, even if he’s a CAM, since it’s a counterattack and he’s one of the few players back, he should stay and help defend. But instead, he runs forward to get back into his attacking position, completely ignoring what’s happening on the pitch.
