How do you get airplane mode to work?

I don't understand much of what you just said, which is probably on me rather than you. With that said, I'm going to continue to use airplane mode for my deathstorm runs because the likelihood of my whole team getting wiped out before the run gets going is a billion times more likely than CG banning me for cheating. Especially when it's never been stated that using airplane mode is in fact cheating.

I personally don't really have a strong desire or need to use airplane mode. I was simply instructed to use it by a guild officer. But I also don't yet have a chex HSTR team or deathstorm NS or anything else that is heavily RNG dependent to set up.

Airplane mode is something that I've been hearing about for a long time and seems to me to be a common and accepted practice. Devito is the ONLY person I have ever seen suggest that it might be cheating, and indeed, the thought had never occurred to me that it might be considered cheating. It would be nice to have some official developer clarification on this, but so far, it LOOKS like the overwhelming majority of the community has no problem with airplane mode and don't consider it cheating and only a small minority (which AFAIK consists only of Devito) has a problem with it.

That having been said, since it does absolutely nothing for me, I won't be using it for the foreseeable future.

And IoS 11 has been around for a while now. Having established that, I'm surprised that everyone in this game continues to say "turn on airplane mode" when basically for everyone with an iphone, which is 56% of smartphone users, airplane mode does not automatically turn off wifi.

And we're in IOS 12 now too.

All it takes is one botched Deathstorm run and you'll never go without airplane mode again. The difference between 20% of hSTR P3 and 0.05% of hSTR P3 will see to it.

In order to be flagged as cheating, they'd have to be very certain you're cheating. With all the game crashes and bad wifi/cell signals out there, that's simply not possible to do for this exploit*. I'd much rather be able to access the upper left menu at any time during the battle and retreat than turn on flight mode, but that's the way they've designed it.

*I also don't consider this an exploit, since you can forfeit a TW or arena battle, or retreat from a raid anyway. This is just an additional safeguard in my mind.

a recent iOS version trys to be "smart" with AP mode.
If the last time you turned on AP mode you turned wifi back on the phone will remember this, so the next time you turn on airplane mode it will leave wifi on

As if to prove my point, I suddenly seem to be unable to post. "Your comment will appear after being approved". I guess this goes to show how quickly you can find yourself being punished for doing something you thought was entirely harmless, such as sharing your opinion.

Never forget that online games aren't democracies. The game gods rule supreme and can cut you off at any time and for any abritrary reason. It's good to keep this in mind with everything you do in an online game, including purchases.

That is most likely the forum posting bug (yes the forum has bugs also). just tag one of them moderators and they can normally clear the error. has happened to me before multiple times.

You’re too paranoid. That’s a bug with forum posting when you’ve posted too many or edited your post too quickly and it gets picked up by the spam filter. Your comments should appear if and when a mod does go to “approve” it.
