- Shaolin_Punk_669 years agoHero (Retired)I think that's the way it goes, kind of like the colors of gear level around your heroes in their screens, that circle around their avatar that indicates the gear quality. Purple is awesome, yellow is best. Maybe it like this from least to greatest: gray, green, blue, purple, gold.
I think so. - giromide9 years agoRising NewcomerAh. I forgot green. Yeah I should pay more attention to the designations of the mods, but they all seem to overlap at some point.
- Shaolin_Punk_669 years agoHero (Retired)I was wondering this last night as well, so it's mostly speculation, but the mods with purple generally have more or higher secondary stats, where as the gray ones have 1, none, or a really low bones on a secondary stat if they have one.
- Shaolin_Punk_669 years agoHero (Retired)But yes, I agree with your theory.
- From what I can tell there are 2 benefits to getting gear with secondary skills shown at mod level 1.
1. you can see before upgrading what skills the mod will have
2. when you upgrade it, the secondary skills improve at the levels they would unlock (i.e. at level 4 the first secondary increases instead of unlocking). - scuba759 years agoLegendWhat I have seen is a secondary stat that is show, due to higher grade/color, will upgrade as @JohnGalt said however if you have more than one show initially one may upgrade multiple times.
I have seen white mods with no secondary stats have finally secondary stats that are higher than other higher grades.
Primary stats end the same regardless.
So from my experience so far main benefit in higher grade drops is seeing some of the secondary stats with out wasting coins. - I THINK that's how it goes. We haven't had an official "how this REALLY works" from the devs yet. @ShaolinPunk is correct though. We think that's how it works.
- Gold539 years agoNew SpectatorWhat I've noticed is Green, Blue, & Gold mods regardless of stars start with secondary stats whereas gray ones don't start with any secondary stats.
- Shaolin_Punk_669 years agoHero (Retired)Good to hear some more confirmations. The color scheme was the giveaway for me, but it sounds like everyone else is experiencing the same. I dig it. I keep coming back to Diablo 2, which isn't exactly a good metaphor or comparison, but it has many aspects of the gear hierarchy in that game that has kept it on my computer for....wow how many years now? Haha/
Think this is a great move for GoH to have mods. Loving it! The grind is always a little intimidating up front, but it adds a lot to long-term play. Cheers for a fun thread! "ZurinFet;567310" wrote:

This is correct. An A quality mod blows a E out of the water.
Yes, A is better than E, but the colors seem to be independent from the letter grade and instead represent the number of unlocked secondary stats.
